Timeline for Proof of Residency
Verification Campaign
• Training for school personnel will be held on January 5 and
January 6, 2016 at the Annie C. Merts Administrative
Building.
• District-wide communications began in December and will
continue through January.
• School progress will be monitored every Friday in January.
• Support with parent communication will be provided by
Assessment and Accountability as necessary.
• If proof of residence is not received by 1/29/16,
student/parent names will be provided to the Assessment
and Accountability Office for follow-up.
• If proof of residence is not received by 2/5/16, these
students may be required to re-enroll as NEW students for
2016/17.

What is Requested of Parents/Guardians
•
Parents/Guardians who OWN their home are requested to provide
current utility, cable or land line phone bill.
•
Parents/Guardians who RENT/LEASE their home are requested to
provide current utility, cable or land line phone bill.
•
Parents/Guardians who SHARE RESIDENCE are requested to complete
Shared Residency Affidavit, provide homeowner’s/lease holder’s
current utility, cable or land line phone bill and parent must provide
an official document addressed to them at that address.

What is Requested of Parents/Guardians
Actions taken to document proof of residence:

If the Service Address is the SAME as in INow
• Document is scanned into INow - process is COMPLETE.
•
If the Service Address is DIFFERENT than the Address in INow additional
documentation is required:
• Parents/Guardians who OWN their home are requested to provide
mortgage/deed.
• Parents/Guardians who RENT/LEASE their home are requested to
provide lease.
• Parents/Guardians who SHARE RESIDENCE are requested to provide
homeowner’s mortgage/deed or lease, and parent must provide an
official document addressed to them at that address.
• Document is scanned into INow and updated in INow – process is
COMPLETE.

What Happens When the Student’s Address is Different
from the Address in INow
• If the student’s address is different but still within the
municipal limits of the City of Huntsville, the student
may remain in the school currently enrolled through the
rest of 2015-2016, but the student must attend the
school to which their address is assigned for the 20162017 school year.
• If the student’s address is different and is OUTSIDE of
the municipal limits of the City of Huntsville, such as in
Madison County or Madison City, the student will be
asked to relocate immediately to the district to which
their address is assigned.
