SELWOOD STEAM & VINTAGE VEHICLE RALLY Greenhill Fields Southwick, Nr Trowbridge SAFETY POLICY & INFORMATION ALL EXHIBITS must be covered by public liability insurance. Vehicle movement is strictly prohibited between the hours of 10:00 – 17:00 unless taking part in an organised event or in the case of an emergency where great care must be exercised at all times and the site speed limit of 5mph must be adhered to. You will be able to access the showground from noon on Friday 26th May 2017. Please enter the site through the exhibitor entrance. If arriving after 10am on show days you will be directed to the public car park and be able to retrieve your vehicle after 5pm. Stationary Engines must be under the supervision of an adult with adequate knowledge of the particular engine at all times whilst running. The Engine must be sited ten feet behind a double rope barrier, six feet behind contractors netting, or some other suitable material as provided by the organisers. The flywheels of Engines, and equipment being driven by them, must be parallel to the barrier and not at right angles to it. Only ONE person will be permitted to ride on a tractor irrespective of the number of seats fitted, passengers may ride in trailers at the discretion of the organisers providing adequate seating is provided. The driver must hold a valid UK driving license to drive the vehicle being exhibited and be conversant with it, and its associated machinery. The driver or riders of Cars, Motor Cycles & Commercial Vehicles must hold a valid UK driving license to drive or ride the vehicle being exhibited, and must be conversant with it. Passengers are only permitted to ride in/on vehicles if the vehicle was properly constructed to carry passengers safely. Steam powered vehicles or appliances must hold a current boiler test certificate. The driver or operator of any steam powered vehicle or appliance must be conversant with the vehicle or appliance being exhibited. Only crew will be permitted to travel on engines whilst it is moving on the rally field, unless taking part in a supervised event within the confines of the parade ring. Exhibits must not be left unattended whilst running, and secured with the parking brake applied when unattended. All exhibits must be exhibited in a safe manner, these include cutting tools, lamps & lanterns and all electrically powered items. If anyone has any concerns or doubts about any safety issue, please promptly report this to you section steward or any other rally official. A safety officer will be on site between 10am & 5pm. The directions of the safety officer must be complied with at all times. DOGS must, at all times be kept on a lead whilst on site, and in the interest of hygiene exercised off the rally site. Any accidental mess must be cleaned up and put in the bins. FIRES are not permitted on site without the permission of the organisers. BARBECUES may be used, but must be kept well away from all caravans, cars, engines, or any flammable material. First Aiders will be on site during opening times however, in the case of an emergency dial 999 KEEP RALLYING SAFE
