June Program Descriptions
Adults - Mindfulness Meditation: Meditation practice helps us to achieve mindfulness and reduce stress. All are welcome, including beginners and those who
have been practicing for years. Attend one or all summer sessions. Several techniques will be introduced by instructor Dr. Siobhan Gibbons. Registration not
necessary.

Tweens & Teens (ages 10 – 18): Make a Fidget Spinner with Teen Librarian, Barbara Register online
Kids: Read to Lily the Dog for Independent Readers every other week at the library. Lily’s last day before her summer vacation is June 14. She will be back in
September. Lily is a Therapy Dog who loves to be read to! Register online
Teens & Adults (ages 12 and up): Wooden Pallet Coasters with Pat Dahl, Register online
Adults: A Good Yarn: Join Librarian Cynthia Lambert, for an afternoon of knitting (or crochet) and talking about books. This is a gathering of knitting and
crocheting enthusiasts of all skill levels. No instruction is given. Bring your projects, your ideas, and join like-minded crafters to discuss a wide variety of topics and
titles. Saturday June 17 and July 15, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the program room. Registration not necessary
Summer Reading Program Starts on June 19 (all ages): The challenge is on! Pick up your reading log and start reading for prizes. The theme for the Summer
Reading Program is Build a Better World
Tweens & Teens (ages 10 – 18): Geo-Gami with Barbara, Register online
Adults: Art Journal with Barbara - Modpodge the cover of a used book to create your one-of-a-kind art journal. Register online
Adults: Organizing Challenge – Take the challenge and get organized this summer. Attend one or more sessions and share your progress. Registration not

Teens (ages 13 – 18): Drawing Class with April Zay, Learn drawing techniques from artist, April Zay. Register online
Monday Matinee (4th Monday of every month): Sully – On Thursday, January 15th, 2009, the world witnessed the "Miracle on the Hudson" when Captain
Chesley Sullenberger, nicknamed "Sully", glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. Rated PG-13
Registration not necessary.
Family Program (all ages): Sciencetellers – An interactive and exciting science show
Teens & Adults (ages 13 and up): Backyard Vermi & Composting Workshop – Learn the basics of composting kitchen scraps and yard waste as well as using
worms.
Teens & Adults (ages 10 and up) – Play games, work on a puzzle together or color with Barbara: Meet-up with friends or make new friends. We supply the
games, puzzles, the coloring pages, markers and pencils. Registration not necessary.
Art for Toddlers (age 2), Preschool Art Class (ages 3 – 5), Art Class (ages 5-8) & Art Class (ages 9-12) – Classes are with artist, April Zay. Register online
