In computer, go to your document processing folder and create a new folder inside named Word 1. 2. Open Word 1 practice document from the shared drive. 3. Save the file to your Word 1 folder and name it “period last first Utah Facts” (create a Word 1 folder in your Word Processing folder if you don’t have one). 4. Update document properties. Author: Student Name, Title: In Class Utah Facts, Subject: period Mrs. Banta/Mrs. Bell. (File, Info, Properties, Show Document Panel)-close the document panel. 5. Insert a new page at the top of the document by going to the Page Layout tab, choose breaks and choose next page. 6. Click in the first page or arrow up to the top of the first new blank page. 7. Type your first and last name at the top left of the document (you will have to change the alignment to left). Highlight the text and change the style to No Spacing. (Home, Styles, No Spacing). Notice the alignment changes-click in front of the name and backspace. 8. Tap the <end> key to go to the end of the name. 9. Press <enter> and type “Utah Facts” <enter> Teacher’s name <enter> 10. Highlight name, title and teacher. Change the font size to 24. 11. Unselect the text-(just click to the right). 12. Center the page vertically (Page Layout, Page Setup dialog box, choose the Layout Tab, in the Page section, choose center. 13. Select your name, Utah Facts, and teacher name-horizontally center the selection. 14. Add a custom page border to the 1st page of the document, choose a border that will allow you to change the color- (Design Tab, Page Borders, Art, choose a style that is black, choose a color, make sure to select Apply to: First Page Only). 15. Save. 16. On the second page, under State Information, select the four lines and change them to a square bullet- (Home Tab, Paragraph Group, Bullet Arrow, choose a square or define new bullet and find a square). 17. Select the list of State Symbols, create a new bullet using the Utah Map picture as the bullet(Home Tab, Paragraph Group, Bullet Arrow, Define New Bullet, Picture, browse to the shared drive to the picture folder inside the Word 1 folder). You may need to select the bullet after defining it. 18. Delete the blank line following National History Trails. 19. If the top of page 3 has strange spacing (otherwise skip this), …The page is centered vertically, the whole document is centered vertically. a. To fix this, go to the top of the 2nd page, add a continuous section break-( Click in front of the title, Page Layout Tab, Breaks, Section Breaks, Next Page) (You may have to remove the Page border—choose none, except 1st page) 20. 21. 22. 23. 24. 25. 26. 27. b. then set the vertical alignment to Top from this point forward- (Page Layout Tab, Page Setup dialog box, Layout Tab, Page Section, choose Top Create a page break after Famous Utahans and the paragraph that follows-(Insert Tab, Pages group, Page Break or Ctrl+enter). Select the text starting with the paragraph “On the Insert tab, the“ through the end of the document. Create 3 columns to display this text-(Page Layout, Columns, choose 3). Change the paragraph spacing for the columns to 6pts before and 6 pts after-(Page Layout, Paragraph, before and after). Change the line spacing for the text in columns to 1.5-(Home Tab, Paragraph Group, Line and Paragraph Spacing button, 1.5). Add the Utah Map picture as a watermark in the document. a. Go to the Design Tab, Page Background group, choose Watermark. b. Select Custom Watermark c. Select Picture Watermark and click on Select Picture. d. Browse to the Utah Map picture e. Choose Okay. Re-save the document, view in Print Preview-(File, Print) scroll from page to page. Make any adjustments as necessary. Re-save-then save the document in a pdf format. Double-click at the top of the page to open the Header. Type your first and last name on the left, Tab to the center and type dinosaur, Tab to the right and type in your class period. Insert a Page Number, Bottom of the Page, Choose “Rounded Rectangle 2”. In the footer, double click on the left side to insert the insertion point on the left margin— insert the current date, long format—do not automatically update. Double-click on the right side of the footer and type your teacher’s name there. (The text is white, change it to black) In the header, highlight your name, choose underline, now change it so only the words are underlined, not the space—click on the arrow to the right of the Underline tool, choose “More Underlines” in the Underline Style window, choose “Words Only” then click on okay. Apply a Text Effects to your name, choose Orange, Accent 2, Outline Accent 2—Notice it is gray and you cannot select it— Notice in the title bar, Compatibility mode. This file is in an old Word format. Convert the document from a Word 2003 document to a Word 2013 document. Save the document in your Word 1 folder (create one if you need to) with a name following the following scheme: period Last First Dinosaur. Select the entire document, ctrl-A or HomeEditing Select Select All, a. Assign the text style of “No Spacing” to the all the text in the document b. Change the font to Arial c. Change the font size 12 d. Save Delete the blank line at the top of the page, above the title. Triple-click somewhere in the first line of the document. This will select the whole title, assign the style “Title” to it. (Home>Styles>Title) With the title selected, change the font size to 26, Text Color Orange Accent 2 and centered. Change the title to All Caps using change case Now using Change Case, change it so it will capitalize each word which is title case—Notice the “With” has a green underline—Right click on the word “With” and accept the suggestion “with” and the suggestion for “A” with “a”. Create a two line title by clicking in front of the word Dinosaur in the title and pressing the enter key. Select the entire title, change the line spacing before the paragraph to 0 pts and spacing after is 6 pts. (Page Layout Tab, paragraph group) Select the first paragraph in the document and move the entire paragraph below the 2nd paragraph. It should then become the 2nd paragraph in the document (triple click on the paragraph and then drag and drop it to its new location) . Adjust the spacing so there is a blank line between the first two paragraphs. On the first line of the first paragraph, click after the words (Raleigh, N.C.)— and before the S in Scientist--press enter. Delete one blank line above this new line. Highlight the “S” in Scientists on the new 2nd line. Insert a dropped cap by clicking on the Insert tab, go to the Text group, click on Drop Cap and choose Dropped. 22. Click in front of the first word in the second paragraph. Insert the picture “dinoheart” from the shared drive, Word 1 folder (Insert tab, Illustrations, Picture, browse to folder and choose picture). 23. With the picture selected, change the wrapping to tight and change the size to 1.8”. (Format tab, text wrapping button, choose tight) 24. Add the picture style “Simple Frame White” to the dinoheart picture (Format, Styles Gallery) Save. 25. Select the entire 2nd paragraph by triple clicking somewhere in the paragraph. Change the line spacing to 1.5 and the alignment to justify. Practice the different hotkeys for line spacing. (Ctrl-2, Ctrl-3, Ctrl-1, Ctrl-5)—Click on the picture, nudge the picture down, using arrow keys so that the text aligns evenly to the right of the picture. 26. Select the third and fourth paragraphs. Practice increase and decrease indents. Page Layout TabParagraph groupIndent—Set a right indent for 1.5 inches-left indent at 0—Set the alignment for justify (ctrl+J). Save. 27. Click to the right of the 3rd and 4th paragraphs and insert the dalewillow picture to the right of those two paragraphs. a. Change the wrapping to “In front of text” b. Move the picture to the right and center it in the space created with the right indents c. Add the style “Center Shadow Rectangle” to the picture d. Add a Black Text 1 border to the picture e. Save 28. Change the line spacing for the 3rd and 4th paragraphs to 1.15. 29. Select the word “thescelosaurus” in the second paragraph, apply italics and bold to that word. 30. Select the words “fossilized heart” in the first sentence. Change the text color to gold Accent 4 Darker 50%, italics, and bold. 31. Use the format painter to copy the formatting on the words “fossilized heart” to the three instances of the word “heart” in the third paragraph. (Highlight fossilized heart, double click on the format painter icon, double click on each word heart in the third paragraph— press esc key to turn off the format painter or click on the format painter button). 32. Change the top margin to 0.5”, and the bottom to 0.75”. Go to the Page layout tab, click on margins, choose custom margins type the appropriate number in each box (Page layout tab, margins, custom margins). 33. Re-adjust the positions of the pictures, if needed. 34. Select the third to the last paragraph that begins with “Russell is director”. Apply an Orange Accent 6 box border to this paragraph: a. Click on the arrow to the right of the border button b. At the bottom of the list choose “Borders and Shading” c. Choose “Orange Accent 2” from the color options d. Choose box on the left and then click OK 35. Add an Orange Accent 2 lighter 80% fill color to the paragraph. 36. Change the last two paragraphs to double spacing—notice that the second to the last paragraph is split between the first and second pages… To keep a sentence together at the top or bottom of a page you need to turn on Widow/Orphan Control. To do this, go to the Paragraph Dialog box, then on the Page and Line Breaks tab, place a check in the Widow/Orphan box. 37. Click on the blank line between the last two paragraphs. 38. Insert a text box, Insert tab, text box button, choose draw a text box. Click and drag a box about 1” high and 6 inches wide (from margin to margin—look at the text). a. Center the box between the margins. b. Click inside the box and type “Dino heart implies it may have been warm blooded”. c. Select the text in the text box and apply the subtitle style. d. Change the spacing before and after the paragraphs to 0. Page Layout tab, paragraph group. e. Change the font size to 28pts, centered, bold, and italics. f. Adjust the height of the box so all the text is visible. g. Change the font color to gold accent 4 darker 50%. h. Click on the text box border and change the border style to a dashes style. (Format tab, Shape Styles, Shape Outline-dashes) change the weight of the line to 3 pts i. With the text box selected, change the Text Wrap to “Top and Bottom”. j. Adjust the placement of the Text Box so that it is above the last paragraph and below the 2nd to the last paragraph. 39. In the second to the last paragraph there is an address to the web site associated with this information—Highlight www.dinoheart.org, go to the Insert Tab, choose hyperlink—make sure the address appears in the address box and click okay. 40. Below the last paragraph, insert a “Continuous Picture List” from Smart Art. a. In the center tile, type “Stoskopf”, on the right type “Reptile”, on the left type “Dino Heart”. b. Click on the “Insert Picture Icon” on the left tile—insert the Dinoheart picture. c. Insert the Stoskoph picture in the center and the Reptile picture on the right. 41. 42. 43. 44. 45. 46. 47. d. Click on the selection border that goes around the entire Smart Art—change the smart art color to “Colorful Range-Accent Colors 5 to 6” (Smart Art Tools Design TabChange ColorsColorfulLast one on the right). e. Change the size to 3” high by 4.5” wide (Format TabSizetype in numbers) f. Change the wrapping to “In Front of Text” g. Move the Smart Art so that it is centered between the margins under the last paragraph. h. Save. Insert a star shape about 1” high. Place it under the first tile in the SmartArt. Change the fill of the star to a pattern—choose “Paper bag”, change the shape border color to black. Copy the star and paste two of them placed under the other two tiles of the SmartArt. Change the zoom control to 70% so you can see the entire document. Go to the Page Layout tab and to the Themes group. Click on Themes, hover your mouse over each of the different themes and notice how the font in the text box changes depending on the theme. Choose the Theme “View”. The document should fit on two pages. Re-save. Save the document as a .pdf file. Upload this file to edu20.org for Word 1 In Class Assignment.
