Role Play

Fundamental, Principles, Individual, Team Events tips
All have competencies OR performance indicators that MUST be incorporated into the role
play. They are graded by the judge on EVERY performance indicator. If you don’t hit on it
in you will get a 0 for the indicator on the judge’s evaluation sheet.
First impressions are critical. Professionalism. Eye contact, firm hand shake. Smile!
 Take notes during prep time. You can take notes in with you!
 At the top of your note page write the 5 p’s (product, price, place, promotion,
people) and then write the answers to these as you read your role play/case study
 TEAM events you may write SWOT as well. Identifying the Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities and Threats of your case.
 However YOU can pass things to the judges! You may sketch out promotions,
brochures, etc. and you can give it to them. However, for participants in the
Principles of Business Administration Events, Team Decision Making Events and
Individual Series Events, the materials handed to the judge must be created using
the materials provided during the designated preparation period.
 Stick to the story. Believe in your ideas. And have confidence in yourself and your
ideas. BELIEVE!
