how to stream media using the ‘upnp’ option on your archos player â across a wifi network If you do not use Windows® Media Player 11, you can search the Web for other Universal Plug’n Play (UPnP) software or devices that will share media files over a WiFi connection. 2 First, make a WiFi connection to your network (the same network that your computer uses) by selecting Enable WiFi from the Home Screen menu. Once done, you can easily view photos and play videos and music from your computer over WiFi by selecting the option Network ‘UPnP’ in the ARCHOS Video, Music, or Photo browsers. Not only is it very cool to be anywhere in your house or yard and play movies or music from your computer, but what’s really great is using the ARCHOS DVR Station to play all the movies from your computer on the big screen of your living room home cinema over your Wifi network! 3 On your computer, start Windows® Media Player 11 and in the Library pull-down menu, select ‘Media Sharing.’ 4 Check the box ‘Share my Media.’ Within few moments, the ARCHOS device will be displayed in the list of possible shared devices. Click on the ARCHOS icon, then click the button ‘Allow.’ The ARCHOS icon will then have a small green check mark next to it indicating that you have allowed Windows® Media Player to share media with that device. Click ‘OK.’ This is the end of the one-time set-up process. View photo or play music, videos and movies wherever you are with your ARCHOS player. 5 Now, on your ARCHOS device (whenever your computer is on), you can simply click on the Network ‘UPpnP’ option in Music, Video or Photos and see all of the media on your computer.
