am very impressed by Languages on Stage ai'rd its innovative approach to fostering
bilingualiim in Canada. Artistic Director Hélène Nicole Richard and her team have
devJoped a winning formula to encourage students to embrace the French language. Their
methoâ is based on the understanding that becoming bilingual is not simply a matter of
learning a second language, but of wanting to learn a second language. By bringing the
French-language and ôukure to life through interactive stage perforlnances, this non-profit

organization hàs been tremendously successful in engaging young Canadians.
