We want to give you a brief overview of our goals: Provide two exciting, educational school assemblies Provide each Teacher a Stipends to assist with teachers with their out of pocket expense for supplies. Place new fence Assisting with funding Fort Flagler for our Volunteer Opportunities Individual Highlights: Welcome Back 1 The Students are the heart of the school. The Staff members are the vital organs to keep the heart beating. The Parents and PTSA are the nourishment, providing essential support to keep the whole body functioning. Volunteer Opportunities 1 Thank you 2 From the Pres. 2 Calendar along the PES Soccer/Play Field creating more separation from those walking between schools. 2 Volunteering on any level keeps the essential support going. We need you to volunteer. There are numerous opportunities to get involved. Walk/Jog A Thon 3 Rummage Sale 3 Many hands make for a 5th Graders. Provide supplies for the Art Docent Program Long Term (2 or more years) Remove the current blacktop near the play-ground area and replace it with level, safer surface. Install a fence on the replaced blacktop to prevent cars nearing the children on the playground. Kelly Ashley, Volunteer Chair lighter load. If you have an hour to spare we can use your help. We need volunteers for onetime events as well as ongoing events. Look for the Volunteer form; fill it out by checking at-least one way you want to help out. Send it back with your child and we will contact you with further information. Box Top Coordinatorcollects the Box Tops for Education for your child’s class and counts them Committee Member – Join the Nomination Committee, Walk/Jog-AThon Committee, Fall Festival Committee…and the list goes on… Questions? Did you know that the Northwest Design Center has donated storage space to PES PTSA for the upcoming Rummage Sale? Did you know that Reliable Storage has as well. This group has already proven to be dedicated, passionate and determined. They have worked hard towards developing goals, determined funding projects, setting budgets and learning their respective rolls. We are a small group and need your help. Two ways to get involved: 1. Join the PTSA. Become a part of a larger voice. We are a group of parents wanting to give our children the best possible school experience. We are going to do an all school walk/jog-a-thon!!! donation. Your child can ask family, friends, neighbors or you could even ask your friends on Facebook. Please don’t let students go door to door unaccompanied. Your child will be given the opportunity during the school day to walk or jog for 1 hour laps around the PES Soccer Field. They get to earn some amazing prizes while earning money for the school! Prizes will be easy to achieve rewarding your child for their effort. PLUS there will be some big Prizes… such as the individual that raises the most money will receive a Starting September 9, your child will bring home a pledge sheet. The children will be asking for donations per lap or a flat LAPTOP COMPUTER!!! grade, they will get a $25.00 gift card to Toys R Us and one person from each grade will earn a Webkinz for most laps walked. Projected Goal for this fundraiser…$12,000! All the funds will go towards our general budget funding the projects listed on the 1st page. This is our largest fundraiser of the year! For each child that raises the most money in each Join us for a lot of fun! We will have monthly opportunities to drop off items at the Northwest Design Center at the corner of Hostmark St. and SR 305. The first opportunity is September 24, 2011 from 12pm – 1pm. Starting October, the first Thursday of the Month from 3:45p – 4:30 will be available for drop off. Long Range Goal to put in new blacktop and fences around the playground. WIN ME!!! Rummage Sale Have extra “stuff” laying around that you want to get rid of? Tired of the clutter, but know that the item has value and you hate to give it to a charity that you don’t know where the money goes??? Well we have an exciting announcement! In April, your PTSA is planning the First Annual Rummage Sale! You can donate your items throughout the year to clear your house and allow us the opportunity to get them ready to sell. What will the money be used for? This year we set a goal to raise $8,000 through this rummage sale. All the proceeds will go towards the PTSA’s How can you help? Donate your nicer items that you want to get rid of. Volunteer your time throughout the year, the week leading into the sale or the day of. We need MANY hands to pull this off. Spread the Word and tell your friends and family about the sale. Questions or want to Volunteer?
