What is a trailer ticket and who gets it?
Answers:
1) remaining drawings on
a multi-draw ticket
2) the player
There is no charge for the trailer ticket
because the player paid for the draws when
the original ticket was purchased.
Lotto tickets may be purchased for up to 14
consecutive drawings. Players do not always
wait until all of the drawings have passed
before presenting the ticket to a retailer for
prize payment.
The player receives:
Fortunately, your lottery terminal is
programmed to easily handle this. Scan the
multi-draw ticket like any other winning ticket.
The printer will brand the original ticket with
the prize amount and “WINNER.” Prize
receipts and a new ticket with the words
“TRAILER TICKET” printed at the top will
also print. Trailer tickets have the same
play numbers as the original ticket for the
remaining drawings, but a new serial number.

On-counter dispenser leads to
significant sales increase for
Minneapolis retailer
Rock Creek Pit Stop in Pine City earned a $5,000
winning ticket bonus because one of the two $1 million
winning Raffle tickets was purchased at their business.
“It was really exciting!” said Sue Pogones who co-owns
the store with her husband Paul. The $5,000 bonus
will be put to good use: “We’re going to upgrade the
store with LED lights in the coolers and the ceiling,” she
explained. Pictured: Sue and Paul’s daughter, Danielle

Background: Get Happy Oriental Food Inc. in Minneapolis
is a grocery store that offers an eclectic mix of Asian and
American foods. They are known for their homemade
specialties, including a killer papaya salad that’s made fresh
in-house daily. The store has been a Lottery retailer for four
years and according to Lottery sales rep Esmeralda Guajardo,
they understand the importance of engaging their customers
on the latest games and promotions. But above all, what sets
Get Happy Oriental apart is their eye-catching 32 game oncounter dispenser.
Best practice – on-counter dispenser: They include a
number for each scratch game on the dispenser, which makes
it much more efficient when customers are purchasing tickets,
said Guajardo. “They have a diverse customer base so it helps
with the language barrier,” she added. “The numbers system
also makes for a speedier transaction, which is a huge benefit
to not only the staff but their customers as well.”
Sales results: Since implementing the 32 game on-counter
dispenser, scratch games sales have increased a
whopping 90 percent.
