CharitySpike 2016 Saturday, August 20th Shaker Heights HS Front Lawn What: Champions for Charity is proud to present CharitySpike 2016, a charity Spikeball tournament for Shaker Heights High School students. Spikeball? After making an appearance on ABC’s Shark Tank, Spikeball rose to stardom and is now being played all over the US. In pairs of two, teams compete by hitting a ball against a trampoline in a volleyball(ish) style. To learn more go to http://www.spikeball.com Why: The goal of Champions for Charity is to empower athletes to make a difference in the world around them, while bringing together communities. By competing in CharitySpike 2016, you will not only be able to raise money for charity, but also be able to play an innovative and competitive game, and build a community feel with other students. How does it work? 1. Pick a partner and a charity 2. Sign up online at www.champions4charity.org/charityspike.html 3. Compete against other students on August 20th for the chance to win hundreds of dollars for your charity. How does the tournament work? Teams will be competing in a group stage tournament, and guaranteed at least three games. The top two teams from each group will advance on to the quarterfinals. The winners will then continue to the semifinals, and then to the finals. How does my team win money for our charity? Only once your team advances from the group stage will you begin to earn money for each win or loss. Those who do not advance will not earn money for their charity, but fees will be donated to other charities. Quarterfinal winners receive $20*, semifinal winners receive $40*, and the winner receives $80*. Teams that are knocked out in these stages receive half of the winning prize money.
