TeachingAids_TASK-1

TASK
Prepare a set of 8 flashcards for use in class. Each card is to show
a different nationality, for example French, Spanish, Chinese,
Mexican, etc.
Include more than one image on a card but not too many, so that the cards
are not too eclectic and the images are easy to see from a distance. The
images may include a country's flag, a person wearing a national costume, a
famous landmark, etc. Good presentation will gain better marks. Avoid using
pictures which could cause offence.
Illustrations taken from the internet are acceptable, however you need to
demonstrate that you have done some work on the design and not copied
ready flashcards from the web.
Remember that the cards are used as prompts to elicit the target vocabulary,
therefore the countries or nationalities should not be written on the cards (the
words would usually be written on the back). You only need to show the front
of the cards.
Note for tutor:
I have composed eight flashcards representing eight different
countries. The photographs, which show a well-known landmark
or scene from the particular country, are taken from the internet
and I have completed the flashcard by adding two small inserts to
show the country’s national flag and an outline map of the country.
The eight countries depicted are as follows (in order):
 France (the photo is of the Eiffel Tower in Paris)
 Egypt (the photo is of pyramids, complete with a caravan of camels)
 The Netherlands (the photo is of Dutch windmills and tulip fields)
 India (the photo is of the famous Taj Mahal in Agra)
 The United States of America (the photo is of the Statue of
Liberty against the Manhattan skyline of New York)
 Italy (the photo is of the Grand Canal in Venice, plus gondolas)
 Australia (the photo is of the Opera House in Sydney)
 Japan (the photo is of the Itsukushima Shinto shrine gateway)
