2017 Membership Guide TEE IT FORWARD is a joint initiative between the USGA and The PGA of America that encourages players to play from a set of tees best suited to their driving distance. In addition to providing more enjoyment for golfers, teeing it forward also can be one of the most important steps that golfers take in improving pace of play. A USGA handicap is included in your membership. It is the MEMBERS responsibility to ensure that all scores are entered into the USGA System, using equitable stroke control. Misleading playing ability may result in disqualification or adjustment before play as deemed necessary by golf professional staff. In season (Memorial Day-Labor Day) Pro Shop will open 30 minutes prior to first tee time. If you are not receiving emails, please notify a member of We are pleased to offer PGA and LPGA instructors to help you improve your game. Please contact the Professional staff directly to set up appointments. Only DPGC Professional staff is eligible to provide lessons on site. This includes range, short game area, putting green and golf course. Formal outside instruction is not allowed. Outside Events Outside events are vital to the financial success of the course. We currently offer outside events any day of the week, including weekends. Weekend events will be restricted to afternoon play to ensure that our members have optimum opportunity to play in the morning. We will not overbook outside events Calendars and information will be provided in advance to you regarding any course closings due to outside events. There is not a fee reduction for a member participating in outside events. management. Hole in One Insurance Program. Scoring a Hole in One is an exciting accomplishment for the golfer. Based on the long-standing tradition of “buying a drink” for scoring a hole in one, Dakota Pines offers a Hole in One insurance program. For each Hole in One, “opt in “members will be billed $5 for each hole in one. $200 of the money collected will go directly to a bar tab to ensure that at least some of the money is applied for its intended purpose. The Tab will remain open until the $200 is used. Limited to one drink per member. Any remaining money will be distributed to the member. Fore Up Online Account: While still a work in progress to maximize the functionality, you will have access to your playing history, member charges and invoices. Once your membership is established and we have the signed application, you will be given online credentials. With the online credentials, you will be able to manage all your personal information, billing information, history, and chit credits. Membership Billing : On the first day of each month you will receive an online invoice. You will be able to pay with a credit card online or bring a check in by the 9th of the month to keep your membership in good standing. If payment is not received by the 10th of each month, your credit card on file will be charged. If you have any discrepancies to your account, please speak with Barrett in the Golf Shop, or Michael in The Pub prior to the 9th of the month Currently we do not have reciprocal charging privileges set up with area clubs. Please see Barrett or Todd to ensure that we can accommodate charging with area clubs. Please sign all Member charge tickets. Pace of Play Pace of Play has been established at 2 hrs. 5 minutes per nine holes. Please keep pace! Please inform your guests of this policy. Members that have been verbally warned about slow play may lose tee time privileges for an established period as determined by the golf professional staff. We will do our best to enforce pace of play on busy days. Foursomes have priority on a golf course, however we will allow fivesomes with prior approval. Bag Storage: We are pleased to offer bag storage for our members. Bag room attendants will prepare your clubs for the day, and clean clubs and put away after each use. Dakota Pines Golf Club is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged clubs with items stored on site. Check in – Arrival to Course When arriving at course, please check in with golf shop upon your arrival. It is important that we know you are on the course for many reasons, including emergency situations. Plus, with outside play it is paramount that we can manage the tee sheet. No play begins on #10 without pro shop approval. Dress Code: In season (Memorial Day – Labor Day), no denim is allowed. Collared shirts tucked in, and bills of hat on correct order. All men must have sleeves on their shirts. Before Memorial Day and after Labor Day Sweatshirts and jeans are acceptable. A collared shirt is recommended but not required. At no time are athletic shorts allowed on the golf course. Please inform your guests of the dress code policy. Locker Rooms Each qualifying membership will be allowed a locker included with membership. It is each member’s responsibility to maintain a clean area around locker. One key will be presented to the member. It is the member’s responsibility to possess the single key for the locker. If a new key must be produced, the member will incur all charges. At no time will illegal items be permitted on the premises. DPGC reserves the right to search any lockers. Members are financially responsible for any damage cause by themselves or their guests to the locker room or any portion of the clubhouse. Dakota Pines Golf Club is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items stored in lockers. Course repair: All players are required to fix ball marks, replace divots and rake sand traps during their round. Please leave rakes outside bunkers after use. It is all our responsibility to ensure we take care of the course Rental Cart Policy Drivers must be 18 years of age or older to operate a rental cart. Driver is financially responsible for any damage caused to cart or property. Carts must remain 30 feet from greens and tees and stay on paths where provided. No more than 2 persons are allowed on cart. Local Rule: Native Grass areas will be played as “lateral Hazards” Please proceed under rule 26-1 Reciprocal Play We have reciprocal play at select area courses. Please see golf professional staff for setting up tee times at area courses. Range Use/ Practice Areas: Range balls are available for our members and guests before play or to practice. Members may get range balls from bag room. Guests wishing to hit range balls must purchase a bag of range balls in the pro shop. We encourage members to use the “bacon strip” method of range etiquette - pictures will be posted in the locker rooms. Pro shop Mill River Program Members will receive a 20% discount on all in stock merchandise pro shop purchases. The Pro shop staff would be happy to assist with special order purchases. Event pro shop credit (chits) Any event winnings will be applied to your online account and may be used to purchase in stock merchandise. Chits expire on October 31st. Sorry, chits cannot be applied to past purchases, member billing, special orders, food and beverage, golf or cart purchases. Trade in Program We have established a “trade in” program with a local buyer. If you are looking at upgrading your equipment, let us get a trade in price for your old equipment YES o o o o o NO Please do not hit range balls over the fence at the back of the range. Upper tees are available for shots under 200 yards. You must hit in the designated locations as determined by the superintendent. Range balls are the property of Dakota Pines and shall not be removed from the property. No Pitching to putting green. Please do not remove Pitching (Short Game) area golf balls. Golf Games / Club Events Types of Membership Men’s Club is established on Wednesdays. Women’s Association has events on Thursdays. Men’s and Women’s club tee times will be posted at the beginning of the year. If you have a request for a starting time on Wednesday or Thursday, please make note in writing and give to golf professional staff. Requests will be honored on a first come first serve basis. Any reduction or addition to group sizes must be reported to pro shop. Club Events will be posted in advance. Members may charge entry fees. Entry fees will generally be between $10-$75. We hope that you will participate in events during the season and we encourage you to invite your guests to join us during our general events. Cash games must be paid for in cash before play. A selection of Games includes, but not limited to Memorial Day Stableford Valley Ford Scramble Pro Am Labor Day Chapman Ryder Cup Single Adult – Unlimited play Executive Adult- Unlimited play. Player must be between the ages of 24-34 at time of application. Family – Unlimited play for Family members living under the same residence. Dependent children qualify at the age of 20 and younger. Executive Couple- Unlimited play for married couple between the ages of 24-34. At least one of the couple must be between the age parameters. Senior Single- Unlimited play for individual aged 62 and older Senior Couple- Unlimited play for married couple 62 and older. At least one of the couple must be between the age parameters. Young Adult – Unlimited play for individual 18-23 at time of application College – Unlimited play for individual aged under 23, and being a full-time college student. Proof of attendance is required at time of application. Junior- Individual ages 11-17 at time of application. Play is limited to Monday, Tuesday and Thursday anytime. Wednesday and Friday before 11:00. Weekends and Holidays after 1:00. Weekday Senior – (ages 62+) Individual play is limited to Monday, Tuesday and Thursday anytime. Wednesday and Friday before 11:00.
