Sarpy/Cass Department of Health and Wellness Safe Kids Presentations Traffic Safety Spot the Tot is an interactive presentation that uses a mat placed behind the car to show how many kids can be out of the line of vision for a car in reverse. Interactive presentation uses bingo game to convey message on traffic safety. An interactive game that uses traffic light and other traffic signs to teach traffic safety. We have an interactive CD that we can bring to your organization and play on projector or the kids can use at each desktop computer in the classroom-grades 3-5. Playground Safety This presentation shows kids and/or parents about safe playgrounds and non-safe playgrounds. The presentation includes a worksheet for kids to check their own playground, and one for parents to check the playground too. Water Safety A presentation on showing kids how easy it is to drown and an interaction with the kids on how much water it takes to drown. A presentation on water safety with ducks swimming in a “pool”. Each duck has a question for the kids to answer. A presentation that shows water safety and includes an interactive life jacket relay game. Sun Safety A sun safety presentation that uses sun-sensitive beads to show how much sun it takes to do damage to the skin. A sun safety presentation that lets kids make their own sun visors. Poison Safety A poison safety presentation that uses look-alikes to demonstrate the dangers of ingesting the unknown. Up-Up-And-Away poison control presentation that shows baby sitters and Moms the dangers of household items and why they should be put up and away from kids. Wheeled Sport Safety A helmet safety presentation that includes an egg helmet presentation. A helmet safety presentation that includes a “Jell-O brain”. A train-the-trainer program that teaches the older kids how to fit helmets for younger kids. Fire Safety An interactive presentation that includes a smoke alarm relay game. Computer Safety An internet safety presentation for parents and teens. Hand washing An interactive presentation on hand washing.
