Powerful God, we long to grow spiritually. We are eager to catch
the Spirit, to be set on fire with confidence and trust to use the
gifts you have given. Let Pentecost happen again in this
gathering of your people. As your Church and as individuals,
inspire us to witness to your love and prophesy in your name.
Give us courage to speak of your deeds of power, and to take
the risks of daring discipleship. Amen.

Leader: Do not give easy or unthinking response to this day’s
call to worship. For today we ask God’s Spirit to fill us,
that we may prophesy, and dream dreams, and see
visions. The call to worship today is a summons to be
touched by holy fire.
People: Even now the flames may dance above our heads,
Leader: Igniting our good intentions so that they blaze
into commitment.
