LSUW RSO Registration Session
7 October 2014
Reasons people attend this session:
1. Learn how to register organization
2. Find out about campus resources available to us
3. Learn about changes in policies/procedures from previous academic year
There is a new system this year and it is great. It’s called RSO Community.
The officer who attends the Registration is called the Primary Officer (PO – Katie this year).
The code to access the Community system will be emailed to the PO; you can login with
this. You get 48 hours to do it or else it has to be restarted.
 PO log in
 Select ‘RSO Reregistration’
 Agree to Terms and Conditions
 RSO Preferences – set these
 Select a Registration Status – we don’t do this
 Visibility: Public System
 RSP Membership – we do this
 Ever group must submit a photo or logo/icon when we do the registration – I vote
for the selfie stick but I guess we could have something nice-looking.
Officer Information, Other Things to Enter (Katie to do)
 Minimum of 5 officers. Only 5 can be listed on RSO community. Need UW NetID for
Officers.
 Name of RSO
 Acronym
 Organization Type
Must attach RSO Constitution in Word, Text, or PDF (Katie to do)
 Update if older than 3 years. Ours is. We should do this.
Why we register
 We can fundraise on campus with approval from the SAO
 Fundraising for RSO funds is available
 Fundraising for charity
 Event Funding: Special Appropriations funding is available from both ASUW and
GPSS for campus events that are open to the entire student body. Forms available on
RSO Community under Documents section.
 Wells Fargo Funding: Can apply for this via website. First come, first served. Up to
$1000 available for an individual group. Applies to event things like facilities or
guest speakers. Does not apply to food and booze.

RSO Travel Grants: Can use this money to offset travel/registration costs for
conferences. Not yet launched, but coming soon (about 2 weeks). Definitely should
look into this.
Resource Center
 First floor of the HUB. Computers, fax machine, copy machine, canopies, etc.
 Groups can make up to 5000 black-and-white copies per year.
 All the resources are free.
 There’s a formal meeting room with a Karaoke set-up. Why haven’t we used this?
 THEY HAVE A BUTTON MAKER
Our SAO Adviser is Phil (Graduate and Professional Students)? We think. There’s a way to
look it up.
