Presentation
Vievarium is a strategic card game with a touch of
humour based on the basic events of life. It brings
players to measure the impact of their choices and
events on their life's quality and pursuit to their
goals.
Choose your objective in life and try to reach it
before 100 years of age, while helping your cause
with good decisions or events and while trying to
avoid those bad ones other players will throw at you!
Filled with multiple strategies to help or harm from
reaching victory, Vievarium is a game where every
game is different, like everyone's lives!
Have fun!
2. When a player reach 100 years old, the game is
over for that player.
3. Each player can only play one card each turn. He
choses wether to help his life and trying to reach
his objective or harm another players life and
prevent others from reaching their goal.
4. When a player plays a card, he puts the card
beside his scoring board or someone else's
board. Then, the player that receives the card
apply the effects written on the card.
5. It is not necessary to play a card when it's your
turn. If you can't play or chose not to, simply draw
a card and pass your turn.
6. If every player dies on the same last turn, the
player that wins is the one who is the closest to
his objective.
7. At the end of each turn, each player add their
aging marker to their age. Players aging depends
on how their life is going well or not.
8. If a marker reaches the top positive limit of a
column (in the green zone), the player substracts
1 year to his aging column. When a marker leaves
the top limit, the player adds 1 year to his aging
column.
9. If a marker reaches the bottom negative limit of a
column (in the red zone), the player adds 1 year
to his aging column. When a marker leaves the
bottom limit, the player substracts 1 year to his
aging column.
Gameplay
1. Each player installs a marker board in front of
him.
2. Each player choose one life goal at the top of
the appropriate column by inserting a marker in
the star.
3. Each player place markers in the center holes
where the arrows are. (Aging = +5, Health,
Happiness, Wealth, Culture, Age = 0)
4. Someone shuffles the entire card deck and
gives 5 cards to each player. They keep their
cards in their hands.
5. Place the deck at the center of the table.
6. The youngest player starts the game by playing
a card near his board or another player's board.
(Pay attention to the minimum age on certain
cards!) He reads aloud the text and the target
player adjusts the effects on his board. If a
global event has been played, all players get
affected.
7. After a player played a card, he draws a new
one from the deck to prepare for the next turn.
8. In a clockwise rotation, each player plays a card
and draws a new one.
9. Before the beginning of the next round, the
player who started informs everyone to
calculate their age by adding their aging to their
age total.
10. The game ends for the player who reached his
goal or exceed 99 years old.
11. At the end of the game, every player reads
aloud his life course with the cards near his
board in the order they have been played. Be
creative and original while creating your unique
story!
