ANOKA SOCCER PLAYER EXPECTATIONS All players are expected to follow the rules set forth by the Minnesota State High School League. Violations of these rules will result in the penalties described in the handbook. All players are representatives of Anoka High School and the soccer program at all times. Players are expected to conduct themselves with proper behavior and sportsmanship during practice, games, school and non-school related activities. All players are expected to positively contribute to the overall success of the girls’ soccer program on a daily basis. Such contributions include, but are not limited to, punctuality for practice, giving their full effort, and building the idea of a team. Players not able to adhere to the above standards will face disciplinary actions deemed appropriate by the coaching staff which may include loss of starting privileges, diminished playing time and/or suspension or expulsion from the soccer program. More specific expectations and their consequences are outlined below: All players must be in attendance of their classes by the end of second period in order to participate in that day’s activities. If a student is absent from practice they must bring a written excuse signed by a parent to the next practice. An excused absence on the day preceding a game will result in the loss of starting privileges and/or playing time. An unexcused absence at any time will result in a one game suspension. Other situations warranting disciplinary actions arising during the course of the season will be dealt with on a consistent basis by the coaching staff and, if necessary, the Athletic Director. Lettering Policy: In order to letter a player must suit up for 10 of the 16 games and must play in at least 18 halves throughout the season. Final decisions on lettering will be left to the discretion of the coaching staff.
