It was a hot summer day. The sky was blue and there were no clouds.
My sister Gail said to me, “Let's ask Bill to drive us to the lake.”
“That's a great ideal” I said.
Our big brother, Bill, had an old car. He loved to take people for
rides £ in his car. Bill worked on it all the time. It made a lot of noise, but
Bill said it could get anywhere.
We prepared sandwiches and cold drinks and put them in the car.
We took our bathing suits and towels and got into the car. It was a long
ride and we sang songs and told jokes the whole way.

Halfway down the hill to the lake, the car started making funny noises.
After a few minutes, it stopped moving. We all got out and started to push.
We pushed very hard. The car started to roll down the hill. It rolled and
rolled, right into the lake!
We all went swimming, including the car!

Surprised but happy, Sharon smiled at her father.
“Have a wonderful time, Sharon! Maybe you'll win a medal in
the long jump!”
‘Thanks, Dad. I’ll do my best. Let’s go Tom! We don’t want to be
