Dear Heads of Boys and Girls P.E./Games/Parents & Carers, Having established an MCC Foundation Cricket Hub in 2013 based out of Comberton Village College we are looking to continue its success this coming year. We are continuing with squads at U12, U13 & U15 this coming winter and into the 2017 season. The MCC Foundation Cambridgeshire Cricket Hub is responsible for finding young cricketers who otherwise have limited opportunities for coaching and playing yet show good levels of aptitude and skill which may suggest they can become successful cricketers. There will be the opportunity to provide young state school cricketers with high quality coaching and facilities all with the aim of helping those involved reach their potential. We are offering talented state school students the opportunity to trial for the three age groups this winter and a squad will be picked following these trials. Listed below are trial dates and criteria for nominations. Please note that a student will not qualify if he/she is already involved in the County set up for the forthcoming season and that the MCC Foundation has determined that all candidates must be attending a state school. Applications are welcomed from both girls and boys. All training sessions will be held at the Sir Jack Hobbs Cricket Hall (Hills Road Indoor Sports Centre) at the following times below. There is an expectation that should a pupil be selected he/she should be able to attend all of the training sessions at their age group throughout January to March. U13 U15 U12 Sat 14th January- Sat 25th March Sat 14th January- Sat 25th March Sun 15th January- Sun 26th March 2-4pm 4-6pm 10-12pm *Please note there will be no training the second weekend of half term 18/19th Feb We are staging two trials per age group lasting two hours on the dates listed in the table below at Hills Road Sports Centre. Candidates will be allowed to attend one trial and a preference of dates can be requested although due to time constraints a preferred choice cannot be guaranteed. Although we have a small supply of kit if candidates have their own kit it would be more beneficial to bring their own kit/equipment to the trial.
