Introduction

 Edson Arantes do Nascimento known
as Pele was born on October 23, 1940,
in Três Corações, Brazil.
 Pele is a soccer legend who became a
superstar with his performance in the
1958 World Cup.
 Even as the best soccer player, Pele is
also known as a global ambassador
for soccer and other humanitarian
causes.
 Although Pele lived in poverty, he
went to school and most importantly,
that is where he got the nickname
“Pele”.

Starting his Dream

 In January 1st , 1956, Pele joined
the Brazilian Soccer Team
named “Santos”, at Age 16.
 He scored the first professional
goal of his career before he
turned 16, led the league in goals
in his first full season and was
recruited to play for the Brazilian
national team.
 He later became the most
valuable player of “Santos”.
Gaining Fame

 In January 1 , 1962, Brazil won the

World Cup due to Pele’s
outstanding performance.
 Pele scored so many goals in 1962’s
World Cup, that they called him
unstoppable.
 He led his team al the way to the
finals opening everyone’s eyes
towards him.
 In the end, Brazil ended up winning
the World Cup and Pele held up the
Trophy showing Brazil’s
performance.

A Path to Succession

 In January 1st, 2000, Pele was
awarded the best player of the 19th
century for all his goals and World
Cups he led his team to win.
 Pele shot 1281 goals in 1363
matches through his life, and
today he is retired and lives being
known as the World’ Best Soccer
Player ever known.
Character Traits

 Pele can be described as many things, but
here are the most important ones.
 Two Traits Pele possess are:
o Kindhearted – Pele is kindhearted because
he helped by donating money to UNICEF
to help out with children’s need.
o Stubborn – Pele is stubborn in a good
way, because he climbed up to fame. Pele
never gave up his dream of being a soccer
player, he insisted it until he actually
became one.

Conclusion

Life Lesson

 Pele is my role model. He is one who inspired me
through my life to play soccer with love and to never
give up on that dream.
 Pele taught me that if I have love, anything is
possible. He never gave up on his dream, he’s
stubborn.
 Just like him, I too am passionate for soccer, and he
inspired me to never give up from his experience in
his childhood and going through financial problems.
