ST. PETERSBURG UTILITY CUSTOMERS Utility Rates This year, your city utility rates have increased for stormwater, wastewater and reclaimed water. Water and sanitation rates, including residential recycling, did not increase. The following rate increases will take effect October 1 and will be reflected in your October bill for stormwater and your November bill for wastewater and reclaimed water. • Stormwater: 31.58% • Wastewater: 9.75% • Reclaimed Water: 4.25% These increases have occurred following detailed rate analyses. In light of recent heavy rains from tropical storms, ongoing efforts to maintain and improve an aging infrastructure, as well as uncontrollable increases in operating expenses have contributed to the rate adjustments. The monthly Stormwater Utility fee will increase $2.16 for each single-family residential parcel. All other properties will increase by a multiple of that rate based on the amount of each property’s impervious surface. The increase is designed to generate funds for a Stormwater Master Plan, which will identify large-scale, priority city stormwater projects, as well as shovelready projects to address known flood-prone areas. This is the first increase in Stormwater rates since F Y2009. A typical customer using 4,000 gallons of water per month will see an increase of $5.23. If reclaimed water is used, the increase will be $6.10. Utility rate Increase 04.indd 1 Billing and Collections Department 727-893-7341 www.stpete.org/UtilityRates 9/23/16 11:15 AM
