Firstly Arch Anderson will be the State Manager and Anthony Kirk will be the Assistant State Manager. Our contact details are below and you are welcome to contact us however we ask that, for consistency, all queries are submitted through the State Executive Officer. Getting there. Players and supporters wanting advice on travel routes to Darwin can find it on the NSW website at www.nswpolocrosse.com.au/major-events/4943-2/travelling-to-darwin/ Note: This is advice only. All players and supporters should ensure they make their own enquiries as to what is the best route and overnight facilities for own respective requirements. It is highly recommended that individuals book in advance wherever possible and make sure they know where they are going beforehand instead of just playing it by ear. Players will also need to ensure that they comply with biosecurity requirements of the states that they travel through. All players need to be at Fred’s pass no later than PM 4 jul Early Access to Fred’s Pass. We have endeavoured to gain early entry into Fred’s Pass however, for a variety of reasons, the earliest time we can enter is 3 Jul. We have also been advised that any vehicles positioned there any earlier will be physically removed. Booking campsites. Campsites can now be booked on line at http://www.polocrossenationals.com.au/tickets/ While NSW is paying for player fees and yard fees (1 yard per player), all players are required to purchase their own campsite tickets. Please ensure players know to pay for the player campsite fee of $300 and not the $370 fee intended for non-players. Getting their Players should only pay the $300 camp fee 2 Playing Shirts. Please note that Team Managers are required to order playing shirts for their teams. Also note that the state will supply a shirt for the coach and manager only (not assistant staff). Uniforms can be ordered the State Uniform Officer, Libby Ward, 0488 369 568, email [email protected] Uniform must be ordered by 1Jjun 14. Non player supporters shirts etc can be ordered online at . www.nswpolocrosse.com.au/members/uniforms/ NSW Function / Shirt Presentation . NSW will host a function for NSW Players and their supporters on the afternoon/Evening of Sat the 5 Jul 14. All Players, Coaches and Managers are required to attend. At the function, teams will be introduced to the NSW contingent and presented with their shirts. For non-players, Coaches and Managers the function is free but their will be a cover charge of $5 per head to a maximum of $20 per family for all other people. (Please note that NSW is funding the main cost of the function which is being catered for at $15 per head). Sponsorship. NSW has been fortunate enough to secure to Fifty Acres Communications Agency as the major sponsor for NSW. This sponsorship has gone a long way to reducing costs to the state and or players however we still need more sponsorship. All Managers and Players are asked to do what they can to secure sponsorship either for their team and or state whether it is in the form of financial sponsorship or goods in kind (such as equipment, a service fee etc). Note that sponsorship is to be pooled centrally and is used to offset the overall costs to the State. Experience has shown that, on occasion, some players are left feeling that they must carry the financial burden of getting to the nationals alone. This however is not the case and NSW, along with its sponsors, is covering a number of costs. For example, NSW is funding: Player fees ($40 each) The NSW function ($15 each), Stable fees ($35 each) The Official Nationals Function ($35 each) Providing a vet ($48 each) Providing a masseuse ($19 each) Playing shirt ($50 each) This is not a complete list or a full budget but hopefully enough to show that Players are not being left out in the cold financially. Although NSW is funding a number of costs, it is worth noting that at the moment we anticipate an out of pocket cost to NSW in the order of $10,000 to $15000 (just over $1100 to $1600 per team) so anything that any of you can do to obtain sponsorship will help reduce the costs all round. 3 Something Missing / Something Wrong If you see something missing or something that is incorrect please let us now so we can fix it because if we don’t know that there is a problem then we don’t know that it needs to be fixed.
