Welcome to the 2014 Bocce Ball season with LEEP! There is a lot of information to know regarding

□ LEEP 2014 Membership Dues = $30

LEEP has not received any specific details about the state event, but we encourage you to mark the date
on your calendars. As more information becomes available we will inform athletes regarding
tournament details. If you know that you will not be attending any of the tournaments, let us know as
soon as possible! This will allow athletes currently on our waiting list the opportunity to play.
Forms and Fees
All athletes must have a LEEP Membership Form and Special Olympic Athlete Application on file at LEEP
to participate. The Special Olympic Athlete Application must be completed every three years. These
forms do require a physician’s signature and athletes are not able to participate without them.
If you are not sure if you have these forms completed, please call LEEP at 507-387-5122. All registration
fees and membership fees must be paid by Monday, June 23, 2014, or athletes will receive a $5 late
fee. Athletes will not be able to attend the Area Special Olympics Tournament unless their fees have
been paid. If an athlete is having financial difficulties, LEEP does have some scholarship funds available.
Please contact Mandy at 507-387-5122.
What to Wear for Practice?
All athletes should be dressed and ready to start as soon as practice begins. We only have an hour each
practice and don’t want to waste any time waiting for people who are late or not dressed. For the safety
of the athletes, they should wear appropriate active clothing gear to practice with tennis shoes that lace
up. Because our practices will be outside, please dress accordingly. Although practices are later in the
day, athletes should still wear sunscreen and possibly bug spray.
What about Uniforms?
All athletes are required to supply their own uniform for competitions. The cost of the uniform is
included in the Registration fee. Athletes will be responsible for having a uniform for competitions and
will not be allowed to compete without it. Athletes do not need to wear uniforms for practices.
Cancellations
Should we cancel a practice, we will leave a message on LEEP’s cancellation voicemail 507-387-9996
announcing any changes or cancellations. Please confirm practices before arriving to the facility. All
cancellation decisions will be made by 2pm on the day of practice.
Other
Special Olympics practices are held at a community recreation facility. Tobacco products are prohibited
by Special Olympics and there is absolutely no smoking on facility grounds. If you do feel the need to
use these products, please do so before you arrive or after you leave the facility. Also, LEEP is not
responsible for supervision of participants before or after designated practice times so it is important
that your transportation rides are on time. Thank you!
If you have any questions please contact Nick at the LEEP Office 507-387-5122 or by email at
[email protected].
GET READY FOR A GREAT SEASON!!!
