Bethany Edwards, along with her team, is developing Lia, the first-ever,
biodegradable, flushable pregnancy test. The Lia pregnancy test uses
innovative materials and unique manufacturing techniques to provide
women with a discreet, battery-and-plastic-free, flushable alternative.
Bethany co-founded LIA Diagnostics in early 2015 after initially
researching and conceptualizing the idea while completing her master’s
degree in Integrated Product Design at the University of Pennsylvania.
She is the 2015 winner of the Small Business Association's
InnovateHer national competition, a 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Summit
delegate and Youth and Women’s Pitch participant, a 2015 DreamIt
Ventures Athena Alumna, was named one of PA Bio’s “16 to Watch in
‘16”, and most recently was acknowledged as one of Philadelphia
Business Journal's "15 women who are changing the face of tech in the
region".
