Clondrohid Astro 7 Aside Rules and Procedures
Games







Each game will be 2 x 27 minute halves with two minutes for half time.
½ Pitch in use and 7 aside sized goals
No offsides.
No slide tackles. Opposing team will be awarded an indirect free kick.
The goalkeeper cannot kick the ball from his hands. The goalkeeper may throw or kick
from the ground.
The goalkeeper may only use their hands within their designated area and is welcome to
play with their feet outside of the area.
Games will be played on a Friday each week commencing at 7.30pm.
League Structure:
 League format will be decided based on number of entries.
 A penalty shootout will decide the league winners should teams at the top be tied with
equal points.
 Each match will have a referee
 Your panel of 10 players is flexible; we would still hope that teams would use the same
players wherever possible over the period of the league.
 Entry is €40 per night per team and covers referee costs and prizes.
 2pts for a win & 1pt for a draw.
 The referee’s decision is final and must be respected. Any other disputes will be dealt
with by the organising committee and their decision is final.
 League table will be posted on website and Facebook on a weekly basis.
Ball Out of Bounds
 A throw in will be used every time the ball goes out of bounds. Opposing team players
must be a minimum of 5 yards away on all corner kicks and direct or indirect free kicks.
Goals
 All players can score. You cannot score directly from a kick out, throw in, indirect free
kick, kick off at centre or from the goalkeeper throwing the ball into the opposing goal.
Equipment/Team Colours
 Teams will be designated a team colour. It is up to the team captain to ensure that each
player wears his or her teams designated colour.
 Players are encouraged to wear shin guards.
 Players cannot wear jewellery.
Substitutions
 Teams are allowed to have 3 substitutes
 Subs are at any time and on the fly. Player coming off field must enter team area before
player entering can come on field. Player coming onto the field shouldn’t interrupt the
play.
 Goalkeepers cannot sub on the fly.
 Only 3 subs and manager are allowed inside the pitch. All others must stay outside
Misconduct
 Yellow card offense is up to 5 mins in sin bin. Red card offence equals immediate
dismissal from the field of play; Players can be substituted for red & yellow card
offenses. Any dismissal will be reviewed by the tournament committee regarding
further participation of the player(s) in the league (if warranted).
