CULTURAL, SCIENTIFIC AND ACADEMIC AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE FEDERAL
UNIVERSITY OF MATO GROSO FOUNDATION AND THE UNIVERSITY.......

provisions in force:
OBJECT
FIRST CLAUSE – The present Agreement sets out the form and conditions under which
the agreeing parties propose to develop a program of mutual co-operation and
academic, scientific and cultural exchange involving the areas of mutual interest.
SINGLE SUBCLAUSE – The program of cooperation referred to in this clause will
specifically involve:
1. - Exchange of information between those responsible for scientific research;
2. - Design of research programs;
3. - Exchange of pedagogical experience and information;
4. - Exchange of lecturers, students, specialists and technicians;
5. - Reciprocal presence in debates, conferences and symposium events of
mutual interest.
6 - The internship may cover all categories of the academic community;
CONDITIONS
SECOND CLAUSE – In order to pursue the subject proposed, the University ______
and the Federal University of Mato Grosso Foundation undertake:
I - To designate those responsible for carrying out this Agreement.
II - To stimulate, within their respective institutions, the study of the language, literature
and culture of the respective countries.

III – To promote internship by giving the students access to the premises, facilities and
activities of the specific department of the host institution, for the development of handson activities and/or real situations of life and work related to the specific area.
IV - To draw a joint work plan for each cooperation activity. Specific cases will be matter
of specific agreements.
V – To write a report of the internship activities carried out at the host institution, in order
to validate the performed activities at the home institution.
SINGLE SUBCLAUSE – The internship at UFMT or under the supervision of UFMT’s
faculties should be carried out in accordance with resolution CONSEPE 074/2014 and
Law 11.788/2008
THIRD CLAUSE – To ensure that the results arising from common research are widely
disseminated with the explicit mention of this Agreement and also that the mutual right
of patents and authorship will be recognized, respecting the internal legal regulations of
the agreeing parties.
STUDENT AND STAFF EXCHANGE
FOURTH CLAUSE – The exchange will be carried out under the following conditions:
I - Exchange of students
1 - The number of students participating in exchange programs will be determined by
previous notice;
2 - Each university will select students to participate in the exchange program. Such
students should be approved by the host partner;
3 - Students must have a good knowledge of the official language of the host university
unless otherwise agreed.
4- The period of study should normally be one academic period or one academic year.
5 – The exchanged students will not pay for tuition in the host university.
6 - The universities may arrange for accommodation to the students when possible. This,
however, is not an obligation.
II – Exchange of Lecturers/Researchers
1 - The annual number of lecturers to be exchanged will be decided according to the
necessity and the available funds.
2 - The period and the number of hours of this exchange shall be determined by mutual

agreement between the participating institutions, taking into consideration the internal
procedures of each institution;
3 – The exchanged lecturers/researchers will have secured the right to use the facilities
and services of the host institution, respecting its regulations and Internal procedures;
III. Exchange of technicians and administrative staff:
1 - The number of administrative staff and technicians participating in exchange
programs will be determined by prior agreement between the parties;
2 - Each institution will determine the period, the number of hours and the place of this
exchange. The activity to be performed should be related to the core activity at the home
institution;
3 - They should have a good knowledge of the official language of the host country,
unless otherwise stated by the host institution;
4 - The exchanged technicians/administrative staff will have secured the right to use the
facilities and services of the host institution, respecting its regulations and Internal
procedures.
5 - Applications must be submitted through the home institution of applicants.
FINANCIAL RESOURCES
FIFTH CLAUSE – When applicable, each institution should promote efforts to seek
resources, through funding agencies or alike, for the financing of programs of
cooperation, respecting its internal rules and previous and specific understandings for
each case.
DURATION AND RECISION
SIXTH CLAUSE – The present Agreement will remain in force for five (5) years from the
date of its signing; it can be declared invalid by any of the parties, by means of written
notice at least sixty (60) days in advance.
PUBLICATION
SEVENTH CLAUSE – The extract of the present Instrument will be published in the
Diário Oficial da União within a period of 20 (twenty) days from the date of its signature.
Such initiative and expenses will be met by Federal University of Mato Grosso
Foundation.

EIGHTH CLAUSE – Any divergence that arises out of this Document shall be resolved
by an arbitral council appointed by those who sign this Cooperation Agreement and by
a third member chosen by the parties.
Thus agreed, the parties sign the present Agreement in 4 (four) copies of equal form and
content, 2 (two) in the English language and 2 (two) in the Portuguese language in the
presence of the below-mentioned witnesses who also place their signatures.
