Brand new look and feel
We've given the entire SolarWinds Orion user interface an overhaul, and updated the navigation scheme
and the notification feature.
New navigation scheme
The first time you log in, you'll notice that we've changed the location of the product tabs. All of your
products and views are now located under My Dashboards. This change makes better use of the space in
the user interface.

Menu scaling
We have designed an option that you can use to collapse or expand your menu. An expanded menu shows
all products and views on a single, scrollable page. A collapsed menu uses a slide-out menu to provide
access to views. If you have multiple products, a collapsed menu makes navigation easier and scales better
in large deployments of SolarWinds.

To expand or collapse your menu, click My Dashboards, and then click Expand or Collapse at the bottom of
the menu.

Important menu items are now more visible
We're now providing immediate access to important menu options. Use the Settings menu to quickly
configure discovery jobs and manage nodes.
Menu customization
We've added a configure option to the menu, which makes it much easier to add pages to a dashboard.
1. Click My Dashboards > Configure.
2. Locate the menu you want to modify, and click Edit.
In this example, the Manage Nodes page is added to the Network dashboard.

3. Add or remove items and click Submit.
The page is added to the dashboard.

Alert & Activity menu customization
You can control the items that appear on the Alerts & Activity menu.
1. Click Settings > All Settings in the menu bar.
2. In the User Accounts grouping, click Manage Accounts.
3. Select a User, and click Edit.
4. Select Yes for the items the user will see in the Alerts & Activity menu bar.
Notifications
We have redesigned the notifications feature so that messages now appear in a drop-down widget instead
of appearing across the length of the Orion Web Console. The new notifications feature takes less room on
the page, which reduces clutter.
Use notifications to access information about upgrades, blog posts, and system status.

To view notifications, click the notifications icon located in the upper right corner of the Orion Web
Console.
Visual refresh
In this release we are propelling SolarWinds Orion into the 21st century. The design of the new user
interface:
n Minimizes the space used by the header and makes more room for the data. The content on a page
is now front-and-center.
n Eliminates visual noise to help you focus on what is important. SolarWinds Orion will do a better job
at highlighting status, exceeded thresholds, and alerts.
n Simplifies, but supports considerable information. The new user interface offers a roomy, clean
visual design, and shows data in proximity with other necessary pieces of information.
n Download your installation files from the Customer Portal.
