Sponsorship and Volunteerism
The Somerset Basketball Association is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. The SBA relies on the
generosity of local businesses and families to fund their annual programs. The SBA also raises funds
from tournament concessions and admissions, promotional item sales, and fund-raising events.
Sponsorship Levels
Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. Gold Ball Sponsors are businesses and families
that donate $500 or more each year to the SBA. Annual Sponsors contribute $250 each
year. Visit the SBA website and click on Sponsors – Become a Sponsor to register and pay online
via PayPal.
Individual Contributions
The easiest way to support the SBA is to attend an SBA-hosted tournament or fund-raising
event. The money you spend at the admission table or concession stand supports the SBA.
AmazonSmile
Another easy way to support the SBA is through AmazonSmile. AmazonSmile is a simple,
automatic way for you to support your favorite charitable organization every time you shop, at
no cost to you. You can select the Somerset Basketball Association to receive 0.5% of eligible
purchases as a charitable donation. Amazon Smile sends the SBA the proceeds quarterly. To read

Sponsor-a-Player
Each November during registration, families have the opportunity to give an additional donation
in $10 increments. The donation goes directly to pay for registration fees or buy equipment for a
player in need.
Fund Raising Events
The SBA hosts numerous fund-raising events each year like the Annual Golf Tournament. Follow
the SBA on Facebook or visit the website often for announcement about upcoming events.

Volunteerism
The SBA relies on volunteers to help plan and work events. There are numerous opportunities all
year for students and parents to volunteer their time and talent such as admissions, concessions,
officiating, coaching, event planning, and community involvement. Volunteers are needed the
most when Somerset hosts a youth basketball tournament. The SBA communicates these
opportunities via email and Facebook and uses a program called SignUp Genius for parents to
schedule their volunteer hours.
