Our Topic Work
The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark
We have started our Novel Study of ‘The Owl
Who was Afraid of the Dark’. We are learning
about the differences between night and day
and have been looking at nocturnal animals.
Visible Learning
We have been enjoying meeting the ‘Learning
Superheroes’. The ‘Learning Superheroes’ are
based upon learning dispositions such as
resilience, team work and curiousity. We have
met Colin Concentration, Learning Lola, Tough
Tina, Imogen Imagination and Tim the Team
Player.
Golden Rules
We have been learning about the 6 Golden Rules
during our Circle Time sessions each week.
These help us to make sure that we are getting
our Rights at school. Some rules are: listen to
others, be kind and gentle, look after property.
What have we been
learning about?
Literacy
We have almost completed learning
our double sounds and have been
working hard to join our cursive
letters together.
Maths & Numeracy
We have been busy working with
lots of numbers and we are all
having a go at simple addition. We
are exploring symmetry in the
classroom
and
the
wider
environment.
HWB
In PE, we are enjoying a session of
dance with Mrs Campbell.
Reminders
Homework will continue to be given out on a
Monday and taken in on a Monday for the
duration of our phonics programme. We will
let you know when this will change 
Please make sure that children have
appropriate clothes for the weather as they
will be outside playing!
