2/3rds format for the heats as 19 cars attended. Daveyboy #1 totally
dominated the meeting with 2 heat wins + Final and rounding off
with 3rd in the GN from the handicap. Chevy #316 won the other
heat and GN, so both scored well at the opening meeting.

MAN OF THE MEETING
APRIL 2017
UKSTOCKCARS F2 Meeting Review.
The Pre-Season meetings went without a hitch but it was then found that a glitch had occurred.
The 2017 F2 Season had to be delayed by two weeks whilst the glitch was corrected.
FINAL WINNER
TOP POINT SCORER
COVENTRY (WCQR) – 20th April 2017 – 11 Cars
Three straight heats, Final and Grand National saw Jouke #474 take 4
out of 5 wins. Only race he failed to win was the Final. This went to
Chevy #316 who hasn’t raced many F2 meetings in his career! Old
hands, Counter #552, Budge #313 and Bathyboy #81 did most of the
chasing but not quite getting there.
NIR (WCQR) – 27th April 2017 – 13 Cars
Chevy #316 continued his good form by winning two of the three
straight heats. He was then runner up in the Final and GN, but
beating him on points was the Final winner Martin #400 due to
him finishing 4th in the GN and winning Heat 2. JB #295 scored well
from his yellow grade start as did Mark #401 from red who took
the GN.
BRISTOL (WCQR) – 4th May 2017 – 13 Cars
The first Whites & Yellows race of the season was won by Chris #21.
The meeting was the most open with JB #295, Bathy #81 and Chris
#21 all taking a heat win. The final was an intense battle which saw
JB #295 roll back the years to record a victory. JB scored a 7th in the
GN, which was won by Chevy #316 keeping his good start to the
season going.
COUNTER ACT & COUNTER BALANCE
April 2017 has seen the emergence of a new force from Scotland. Having raced very little in the F1 formula,
Counter #255 has raced all four April meetings and obtained an average of 33 points from his blue grade start.
So now that Counter has acted, how does Counter balance that with his usual F2 racing? Well he’s currently 2nd
in the National Points with an average of 40 points from his red grade starts, so all in all I think he has balanced
it out quite well now having to start each formula from Superstar! I posed Counter a few questions.
It's been some time since you raced F1's on UKStockcars, what has attracted you to race them this season?
I didn't race last year as I went back to full time work and was pretty busy settling into a new job with a different
company and needed the evenings to catch up on other things as we try and keep the weekends free to attend
real life meetings. I enjoyed the BL Winter league and decided to try and carry that forward into the F1s this year
and in particular I'm trying just to have fun and not take it too seriously. It's great to see more youngsters coming
through and getting better each week.
COUNTER
You have been predominantly an F2 Online Racer over the years, so what has given F2's an edge over F1's for you?
Back in the heyday of regular 60+ attended meetings, I only had time to try and get averagely competitive in one
formula and for some reason I thought I liked the F2s better (must have been the great Admin team we had
Mav/Bathy/Budge!). I only really tried F1s a couple of times and just didn't really get on, so stuck with F2s. Probably the
best thing about getting back into online racing through UKStockcars is finding that I really do like the F1s online!
COUNTER ACT & COUNTER BALANCE
Part 2
You have had an exceptional month in both F1 & F2's with an average of 33 & 40 respectively.
What reason can you give for this months success?
No idea, purely luck I think. The only practice and set up I've being doing is after the previous meeting and
before the meeting starts. The main thing is just trying to have fun and not taking it too seriously. Unfortunately
quite a few don't seem to get my sense of humour and the wind ups seem to be taken too seriously, just all part
of the fun really. Obviously my average may drop hugely in F1 as I'm not fast enough to come through from SS
grade, but I will still have fun and try to score in 80% of the races.
What is you pet dislike in the UKStockcars Online Racing world?
None really as I'm just trying to have fun and not let things
"make me see red" as I have done in the past which has
usually led to me stopping racing. The one thing that does
still annoy me is deliberate lap down takeouts, but there are
only about 3 drivers that do that regularly and it is fun to see
them get wound up when it is repaid.
If you had to choose, would you take Gold or Silver and in which Formula - Why?
This is not an easy choice, but I think I would say Silver in F1. It is probably the least likely
to happen therefore a greater challenge being consistent against the most cars over the
full season.

AT KINGS LYNN OLD – 25th APRIL 2017
Defending Champion Kendo #912 is rumoured to be defending
the title, so can anyone stop him? Fast open shale, could see a
lower grader break away, but can they hold their nerve? Four
heats + W&Y race to determine the closed grid – winner
becomes the 2017 UK OPEN CHAMPION – BE THERE!!!!
Due to the late start of
the F2 Season
