Using Outlook Import/Export to move PST file content into an Online Archive In Outlook click on File tab, Open and Export, Import/Export. In the Import and Export Wizard select Import from another program or file then click Next. Select Outlook Data File (.pst) then click Next. Click Browse to find your PST file on your H: drive or C: drive and select the radio button which best describes how you want any duplicate content to be handled. In the example below any content in the PST file which appears to be a duplicate of content which is already in the destination location will be ignored (not imported). Click on Next. The final screen allows you to make a sub-selection of the content from the PST file if you wish (or copy everything). It also allows you to specify the destination for the Import from the Exchange locations which are available to you. If you have logged into your Online Archive then this will appear in the list. To copy the entire PST file into your Online Archive, select the top level folder to import from (in this case “archive1”), tick the include subfolders box, select the second radio button Import items into the same subfolder in:, and from the drop-down box select Online Archive for your mailbox. When you click Finish the content you have chosen to copy, from the PST file you selected, will be copied into the destination you specified, with duplicates dealt with as you indicated in an earlier step. Once all the desired content has been copied into your Online Archive, and you have checked it to ensure you are happy with it, you should delete the original PST file from your H: or C: drive.
