Feedback
In the Classroom
In this session we will use pages 38-43
and 51-56 from our calculations policy.
A link for this is on the Parents’ Meeting
Resources page or the curriculum page
on our website.
This clearly breaks down the teaching of
multiplication and division in our school.

Multiplication War (for 2 players)
– Take out the picture cards, then deal half the deck
to each of the players then place them face down
in front of you
– Turn over the top card of your piles at the same
time
– The first to say the correct multiplication wins both
cards.
– The winner is the first to win both cards

Pile it on (for 2 or more players)
– On a player's turn, they roll the die twice. Their
first roll indicates how many piles they must make.
Their second roll tells how many cards to place
face down in each pile
– The player will then create those piles, add up the
number of cards used (either by counting them or
by using multiplication), and record their score.
– Play for ten rounds. The person who uses the
most cards total is the winner.

Card games and counting games (e.g. Snakes &

Recognising shapes (e.g. buildings, windows, food
packaging etc.)
Helping in the kitchen (e.g. weighing ingredients, time
duration, volume of liquids etc.)
Supporting your child at home
Helping in the supermarket (e.g. paying and change,
weighed fruit and vegetables, calculating better value
etc.)
CDs/Games for learning times tables
Take and compare measurements when DIY
shopping (e.g. measuring spaces for curtains,
furniture, wall paper etc.)
Tell the time/use timetables (e.g. bus times Sky TV
guide)
