Mansfield Giants Summer League 2011
Dates: Games are every Wednesday night starting from Wed 4th May 2011 till
August which include play-off championships, depending how many teams enter the
league.
Times: Wednesday, tip-off at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm.
Venue: Oak Tree Leisure Centre, Mansfield. NG18 3RT (Directions available upon request)
Cost: £25 per team, per game, payable before the game to a Giants official.
Games: Two halves of 25 minute running clock, substitutions must go through the
table first. Two time outs allowed per game (clock will continue to run), however not
in the last two minutes of the game. 2 table officials and 2 referees (where possible
other wise just 1). Teams are allowed to be mixed with both male and female
players, however whole teams of one gender are allowed. Teams can have up to 12
players, and a minimum of 5. Players can only play for one team only; a player
maybe transferred upon request, but must play a minimum of 2 league games to be
eligible for the play-offs!! In the case of a tie, we will play to the golden basket rule,
in which the team that scores first wins the game. This will be started with a jump
ball. All other England basketball rules apply.
Conduct: To be fun and enjoyable but at the same time competitive to allow a good
run out throughout the off-season. The games are not to be CONFRONTATIONAL.
The referee is there to control the game and allow us the games to run, so try not
giving them a hard time.
Fixtures: The organizers will sort out all games and playing times, all team organisers
will receive the playing schedules in advance. Games may not be every week.
Teams wishing to cancel a game need to contact the summer league organisers 1
week before the playing date. A fee of £50 per game will be charged for any on the
day cancellations and/or late notification as it is unfair on both the Organisers and
your opponents.
