– “if you finish the exercise you can go help your
friends”
– “you need to hand a prefect exercise to beat X”
• Keep students in “flow”
– An exercise each lesson
– Teaching “Arrays” at lesson 8.

Was it worth it ?
Students Emersion First 9 Lessons:
Attendance: 80% -> 100%
Exercise submitting: 74% -> 98%
Students Emersion Full Course:
Attendance: 68% -> 98%
Exercise submitting: 44%* -> 86%
Student Mail Interaction: 500% raise
* Students needed to submit only 70%, which turns the 44% to 63%
Was it more fun ?
When asked to pick the 3 most fun
courses out of 14, 50% of the students
chose the programming course !
