Trentham Lake within the Trentham Estate, Stone Road (A34), Trentham,
Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 8AY. Please enter by the South Entrance and park on
the Monkey Forest car park. For directions follow this link:

Forest.
From the car park, walk with your boat, following the sign for lake and
gardens. When the path splits you’ll see the boathouse in front of you on the
right. There is limited parking by the boathouse for disabled badge holders.

Rules:
BCU Marathon Racing Committee rules will apply.
All paddlers must show a valid comprehensive BCU membership card at
check-in. Paddlers in divisions 1 to 6 who cannot show comprehensive
membership will not be allowed to race. Paddlers in divisions 7, 8 and 9
may buy an Event Ticket for a fee of £5.00.
Paddlers in doubles divisions must declare their singles ranking status at
check-in or they will not qualify for Hasler points.
Approved buoyancy aids must be worn by all division 7, 8 and 9 paddlers
and Lightning racers. The wearing of buoyancy aids by under 16 year old
paddlers and any inexperienced paddlers in other divisions is advised but is
ultimately at the discretion of team leaders.
All paddlers are warned that there may be Fishermen, rowing boats and a
passenger boat using the lake at the same time and due care must be taken
when racing.
Vertical number plates are compulsory for all except division 9 boats and the
Lightning race. (Yellow or white size 200mm x 150mm, Numbers must be
tape and clearly legible as the new rules or club points may be lost. )
Club colours should be worn to be eligible for club points.

Prize giving will take place as soon as possible after the end of racing. There
will be a prize for the winner of each quorate race plus others as appropriate.
Please note:
Portages are subject to the agreement of Trentham Estate and may not
be allowed on the day.
Location:
Why not combine your race with a visit to the Italian Gardens or Monkey
Park? (A ticket must be obtained before venturing out of the designated race
area.) We’re located within one of the Midland’s biggest tourist attractions.

Cycling:
Please do not cycle within the estate and lakeside paths. (We had a
complaint in previous years from the Trentham estate.)
Boat Wash:
We will be operating a boat wash policy again this year, All boats must
go through the boat wash station before being used on the lake. This is
a site requirement to protect the lake from invasive species and
diseases being transferred to the lake. TCC appreciate your
cooperation with this.

Trentham CC will assume that all paddlers entering this race are:
 Competent paddlers and that their Equipment has been checked by themselves as
being ‘fit for purpose’ and have appropriate buoyancy. Spot checks may be made.
 Any medical conditions MUST be disclosed to the race organisers on entry.
 All paddlers must be able to swim 50 metres in their paddling kit.
