BATH CITY FC ACADEMY EDUCATION PROGRAMME The Bath City FC Academy is open to talented footballers that have a desire to make it in the professional game. You will represent Bath College & Bath City FC Academy on and off the field playing in league and cup games throughout the season. The Bath City FC Academy encompasses vocational education pathways in sport, high level coaching with an emphasis on player development and strength and conditioning. High Level Coaching & Player Development Players will receive two full training sessions a week at the newly built Odd Down training centre with former professional footballer and UEFA A license coach Billy Clark. Billy is also supported by goalkeeper coach Steve Phillips. Games and training are recorded and analysed to develop the players’ game awareness. All league and cup matches are built into the academic timetable; Home matches for Bath City under 18s (South West Counties Youth League) are played at Twerton Park on Saturday mornings, Bath College matches (ECFA Cat 1) are played at Odd Down on Wednesday afternoons. Many players have progressed to train and play for the Bath City first team or go on to study at the University of Bath and represent the club’s U21s. Others have gone on to play senior football at local senior clubs or gain scholarships in USA. Strength & Conditioning Players receive a full strength and conditioning training session per week with a focus on the player’s physical and physiological development. The session takes place in our gym at Bath College City Centre Campus. Education Programme All academy players must be enrolled on to one of our Vocational Sports programmes. At Bath College we have a wide range of programmes ranging from Entry Level 3 to Level 5. The vocational Sports programmes are designed to prepare you for higher education or for employment in the sport and fitness industry. These courses combine the written and practical elements of the subject area and provide an opportunity to learn about sport in a practical and applied environment. As a full-time student at Bath College, you will follow a study programme consisting of a vocational qualification, maths and English, employability skills, volunteering and tutorial.
