Dear Families,
Congratulations! Your son or daughter has been accepted to Brown University for the 2017-2018
school year. My name is Mrs. McCracken. I will be teaching on the Traditional 3rd grade schedule
in Village 2; M-TH 8:10-3:00 and Fri. 8:10-11:40. Our 3rd grade Cottages are Q1: Aquarium, Q2:
Exploration Station, Q3: Desert Lab, Q4: Plant Nursery. Our year promises to be packed with all
kinds of exciting adventures in reading, writing, math, and cottage. Alongside the curriculum, we
will incorporate character development in everything we do to promote self-esteem and life-long
learning.
Let me tell you about myself. I truly love teaching and watching students achieve
their potentials. This year will be my 14th year of teaching. I have taught 2/3 multiage, 3rd,
4th, and Kindergarten. Third grade is my absolute favorite. I have a Bachelor’s degree in
Elementary Education from U of A and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction
from ASU. I chose Brown University, in Rhode Island, as our class university because my
brother is a professor for medical students there. I have two children, Isabella who will be 9
soon (and a fourth grader this year at EDUPRIZE as well) and Noah who is 4 years old. I
enjoy reading, listening to music, bike riding with my family, practicing yoga, and staying
active.
Our first day of school is July 26th. Students must be on time and present the full day to be
considered enrolled at EDUPRIZE. Open house is on Monday July 24th from 8:00-4:00.
Our classroom’s scheduled time is at 1:00 pm. Our room is in bldg. 1, #43. At open
house you be able to visit the classroom, pick up important information, learn about
carpool, and you will receive information on where your child will line up outside on the
first day of school. Please refer to our website at eduprizeschools.net for any changes in the
schedule.
Attached to this letter is our class supply list. Please bring your supplies to Open
House. You will then follow directions in the classroom/hall as to where supplies should
be placed. Also at Open House, you will need to pay $10.00 for a scholastic news
subscription and an academic planner. I will be collecting the money at Open House. Checks
may be made payable to EDUPRIZE. Please complete and print the Open House Forms found
online and bring the completed forms to Open House.
I am eager to begin the new year and I look forward to getting to know you and your
child. Please refer to the attached supply list to know what your child will need to have this
school year.
Thank you,
Mrs. McCracken
