Vision Football Academy Guidelines on Expected Behaviour of Academy
Representatives

The following guidance is issued following the recent directives given by the Sports Governing Bodies. It is issued without prejudice and
reiterates the clubs fairness and equality policies. Any breeches of these policies may result in disciplinary proceedings being brought to
bare on any individuals or groups that may be found to have disregarded the Club's policies or directives. In short you may, by your own
actions or words, stop your son or daughter enjoying the many benefits this Football Academy gives to them, by being asked to leave.
For ease of recognition, the guidelines have been formatted to each role an individual has within the Academy as follows:
Conduct you may reasonably expect of VFA Coaches

We shall respect the rights, dignity and worth of each and every person and treat each equally within the context of the sport.
We must place the well being and safety of each player above all other considerations, including the development of
performance.
We will adhere to the guidelines laid down by governing bodies.
We will develop an appropriate working relationship with each player based on mutual trust and respect.
We will not exert undue influence to obtain personal benefits or rewards.
We must encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance.
We will ensure that activities are appropriate for thee age, maturity, experience and ability of the player.
We should clarify with the players and/or parent exactly what is expected of them and also what they are entitled to expect
from their coach.
We will co-operate fully with other specialists in the best interests of the player.
We will always promote the positive aspects of the sport and never condone violations of the laws of the game, behaviour
contrary to the spirit of the laws of the game or relevant rules and regulations or the use of prohibited substances or
techniques.
Our coaches will consistently display high standards of behaviour and appearance.
All MRJFC coaches will not tolerate inappropriate language, whatever the situation.
Conduct Expected of staff
All our staff have the following obligations towards the game:

Our staff will set a positive example for others, particularly young players and supporters.
They will promote and develop their teams having regard to the interest of the players, supporters and reputation on the
National game.
They will share their knowledge and experience when invited to do so, taking into account the interest of the body that has
requested this rather than personal interests.
Our staff will avoid all forms of gamesmanship.
They will show due respect to match officials and others involved in the game.
They will show regard to the best interests of the game, including where publicly expressing an opinion of the game and any
particular aspect of it, including others involved in the game.
They will not tolerate inappropriate language.
Our staff shall offer the following obligations towards the team:

They shall make every effort to develop the sporting, technical and tactical levels of the Club/team, and obtain the best results
by the team, using all permitted means.
They will give priority to the interests of the team over individual interests.
They will resist all illegal or unsporting influences, including banned substances and techniques.
They shall promote ethical principles.
They will show due respect to the interests of players, coaches and other officials, at their own Club/team and others.
Our obligations towards the supporters:

Our staff will show respect to match officials by:

Accepting decisions without protest.
Avoiding words or actions which may mislead a match official.
Show due respect towards match officials.

Players obligations towards the game

VFA players must make every effort to develop their own sporting abilities, in terms of skill, technique, tactics and stamina.
They must give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game, even if his team is in a position
where the desired result has already been achieved.
All players must set a positive example for others, particularly young players and supporters.
They shall avoid all forms of gamesmanship and time wasting.
All players will have due regard to the best interests of the game, including where publicly expressing an opinion on the game
and any particular aspect of it, including others involved in the game.
MRJFC players will NOT use inappropriate language under any circumstances.
Obligations toward one's own team:

Our players shall make every effort consistent with fair play and the laws of the game to help his/her own team win.
They shall resist any influence which might, or might be seen to, bring into question his commitment to the team winning.
VFA players will respect the laws of the game and competition rules by:

Knowing and abiding by the laws, rules and spirit of the game and the competition rules.
Accepting success and failure, victory and defeat, equally.
Resisting any temptation to take banned substances or use banned techniques.

Finally but probably the most important of all...
The standard of behaviour and conduct expected of our Parents and Spectators
A parent's/ spectators expressions and attitudes have a significant bearing on a child's attitude towards:

All VFA parents / spectators are to be positive and encouraging towards all of the children not just their own.
All our parents/ spectators are desired to:
o Applaud the opposition as well as your own team
o Avoid coaching the child during the game
o Not to shout and scream
o Respect the referee's decision
o Give attention to each of the children involved in football not just the most talented
o Give encouragement to everyone to participate in football
All parents/spectators within our Academy are requested to agree and adhere to the Academy’s code of conduct and Child
Protection Policy
