2017 FRESH BEGINNINGS PATIENT SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS
UAB Hospital is a designated Level 1 Bariatric Center of Excellence by the Metabolic
and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP).
This designation means that UAB Hospital provides a full service comprehensive
weight-loss surgery program that has a proven record of providing the highest
quality care for the most challenging and complex bariatric patients, with optimal
opportunity for safe and effective outcomes. UAB Hospital was the first healthcare
institution with this certification in the state of Alabama and the Southeastern
Region.
UAB Fresh Beginnings Support Group Meetings are always the last Monday of the
month and they are free to UAB patients. The meetings are held in the West Pavilion
Conference Center located on the 2nd floor of UAB Hospital, Spain Wallace entrance.
Remember, our meetings are supportive, and we ask that you respect the privacy
and confidentiality of each member. Please join us for topics related to supporting a

PARKING OPTIONS
You may park on the street or in the public 4th avenue parking deck (1801 4th Avenue
South). The deck does charge a fee, 0-1 hour $2.00; each additional hour is $1.00 to a
maximum of $6.00 per day, per exit. If you park on the street, the entrance is 620
19th Street South, you will see green awning on the building and we are on the 2nd
floor.
