My name is Cheryl Phillips. I am a proud graduate of Ottawa

Welcome to an exciting year in Room 15 in Building 1! My name is Cheryl Phillips. I am a proud graduate
of Ottawa University, with a Bachelor’s degree in the field of Early Childhood Education. I have taught at
EDUPRIZE for 2 wonderful years! I really enjoy my home with the EDUPRIZE family. Prior to teaching here
at EDUPRIZE, I have enjoyed a career that has included preschool-aged children, all the way through
adulthood as an instructor for AT&T. Teaching is truly a passion for me! When I am not engaging in my
passion for teaching here at EDUPRIZE, I love spending time with my family. I am a blessed mother of four
beautiful children. I have three daughters that are 14, 17, and 19 years old, and a son that is 9 years old. I
have been married to my best friend and high school sweetheart for the past 23 years.
Kindergarten is a very special year, and I am here to help each child succeed. It is my hope that each child
leaves this school year not only with academic knowledge, but a true love for learning and their school
community. I would love for each child to have a love for reading, and become supreme mathematicians
and problem solvers. It is such a blessing to see these timid writers become confident amazing authors by
years end! In addition to the academics our goal for the students here at EDUPRIZE is to have the students
firm in the foundations of the Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Caring,
Fairness, and Citizenship. I am confident that with a partnership at home and school we will not only
achieve, but exceed our goals!
