Pupils attained 53% O6 and 61% at Level 5. Targeted and appropriate pupil support, improved numeracy planning across the curriculum and effective differentiation led to ambitious individual targets being achieved. To ensure that L5 Science is commensurate with L5 in Maths in 14/15 This target was not attained. Pupils attained 50% L5 in Science. Two pupils who attained L5 in Maths did not attain L5 in Science. However this was due to literacy skills which impacted upon their written ability to plan, develop and in particular to reflect at a solid level 5. Strong Progress Final Evaluation This target focused staff on the need to plan effectively for the more able pupils. The need address Science at L5 will remain apriority in 2015-16. Priority 2: To ensure potential attainment in English at FP & Key Stage 2 at expected level +1 is met Measureable Pupil Outcomes: To achieve 50%+ O6 2014/15 and 50%+ L5 2014/15 Target achieved. Improve standards in extended writing from Year2 –Year 6 to support attainment at level +1 Target improved see above. Final Evaluation This target highlighted the effect that ambitious planning has upon standards. Staff are now extremely aware of the need for differentiation, and this has improved as evidenced through work scrutiny and lesson observations. This has also given arise to an awareness of where and how planning for groups of learners can be improved in 2015-16. Priority 3: To develop and track pupil wellbeing at KS2 To capture measureable data on KS2 pupils in terms of: Teacher assessment of pupil engagement and behaviour Target achieved using “My Selfie” Pupil self-assessment based on “My Selfie” App Target achieved using “My Selfie” Total wellbeing score based on VAP and other key indicators Every pupil has a wellbeing score and intervention for any concern is immediate. Good Progress Final Evaluation This target led to the “My Selfie” system being developed through a PLC. The system is now being rolled out to many schools in Swansea. Staff understanding of how many pieces of data build an effective profile of a child has led to effective and appropriate intervention where necessary. Priority 4: To improve provision and standards in Welsh Measurable pupil outcomes: Improved standards for pupils in Welsh at end of KS2 % to improve on 3 year average Target achieved. 2012-2014 3 year average was 75.5%. Assemblies, awards and slot drillio are having a positive effect. This will remain a priority for 2015 to embed good practice and further develop Welsh skills across the school. Priority 5: To improve processes of self-evaluation Outcomes: Well-developed subject leaders meeting professional standards of teaching and leadership All teachers are aware of national standards. PM is linked to professional standards. Subject leaders are monitoring more effectively and impact statements from reports feeding directly into position statements and SDP Enhanced systems of monitoring through middle leadership tier Achieved – timetable of monitoring established Further develop pupil voice Pupils evaluated standards, teaching and leadership throughout the school year. A presentation to GB took place in Summer. Further develop feedback to pupils Marking labels established and INSET on feedback took place with Penclawdd Primary Adds session on enhancing marking labels further developed staff understanding Final Evaluation Staff are more developed in terms of their own reflection of teaching. More work is needed, however, in developing peer support, involving parents and developing governors. The school has been key in developing ”My Voice” questionnaires which can capture views of stakeholders. This needs to be embedded in 2015-16. 16 | Page This document is based on the Welsh Government regulations 155/2014 Good Progress Llanrhidian Primary School Three-Year Priorities 2015 – 2018 2015-16 Key Question 1 - Standards SDP Priority 1: Improving standards in Science End of KS Science Attainment (1.1.1) Literacy Skills (1.1.4) Numeracy Skills (1.1.4) Progress of more able pupils (1..1.3) SDP Priority 2: Improving standards in Welsh End of Key Stage 2LW Attainment (1.1.1) Oracy (1.1.3, 1.1.4, 1.1.5) Reading (1.1.3, 1.1.4, 1.1.5) Writing (1.1.3, 1.1.4, 1.1.5) Progress of more able pupils (1.1.3, 1.1.5) Key Question 2 - Provision SDP Priority 4: Improving the range and quality of teaching approaches across the curriculum (2.1, 2.2.1) Enhance curriculum planning- meeting the needs of groups of learners (2.1.1) Hall storage – enhance PE and Music provision (2.4.2) Use of outdoors in the Foundation Phase (2.2.1) Assessment for Learning in the Foundation Phase (2.2.2) Improving teaching through peer observations/support (2.2.1) Key Question 3 - Leadership SDP Priority 5: Improving Strategic Direction (3.1, 3.2, 3.3) Improve Governor self-evaluation through My Voice the Governor (3.1.2) Engaging the views of parents to develop school priorities (3.2.1) Embedding “My Voice” questionnaires for all stakeholders (3.2.1) Further develop Pupil Tracking to enhance systems of monitoring and inform planning (3.2.2) Develop Cross cluster working to secure sound standardisation and moderation systems (3.3.2) SDP Priority 3: Improving standards in Digital Competency Pupil Skills (1.1.4, 2.1.2) Standards of groups of learners (1.1.2) Teaching/Training (2.2.1, 3.4.1) Other Continuing Aspects to be Improved in 2015-16 17 | Page This document is based on the Welsh Government regulations 155/2014 Llanrhidian Primary School Aspect Eco School Personnel M Dowsett Target Healthy Schools PESTS R Jones P Jenkins School Council C Morgan Attendance Road Safety Bob Club IT Club J Froom R Verge (GB) P Jenkins A Colclough L Joseph Evaluation Clothes Bank Compost School Farm Level 6 Award Evaluation of 5 SDP Targets Cool Rules Children’s Rights Children’s Complaint Policy Target 96.6% Road safety Day Boys’ Reading Staff Competency 2016-17 Key Question 1 - Standards Literacy – boys writing Numeracy Science Digital Competency Key Question 2 - Provision Prepare for curriculum changes (Donaldson Review) Peer coaching/support Physical Environment Health and Safety - Roof Key Question 3 - Leadership Strategic Direction Pupil Tracking Improving building - Facias Stakeholder voice 2017-18 Key Question 1 - Standards Literacy – boys writing Key Question 2 - Provision Prepare for curriculum changes 18 | Page This document is based on the Welsh Government regulations 155/2014 Key Question 3 - Leadership Strategic Direction Llanrhidian Primary School Numeracy Science Digital Competency (Donaldson Review) Developing Teaching Physical Environment Peer coaching/support Health and safety - Damp in hall 19 | Page This document is based on the Welsh Government regulations 155/2014 Pupil Tracking Improving buildings Training - First Aid Llanrhidian Primary School Policy/Document Reviews 2014-2015 2015-2016 2016-2017 Statutory Statutory Statutory Admissions Child Protection Curriculum Pay Policy Performance Management Data Protection Equality Plan (My Voice Questionnaires) Health and Safety Complaints Disciplinary Competency Grievance Non-statutory Attendance Marking Self Evaluation CPD Lettings Planning Transition Charging Policy School Session Times Sex Education SEN Religious Education Non-statutory Anti Bullying Assessment Governor Handbook Marking Pupil Complaints 20 | Page This document is based on the Welsh Government regulations 155/2014 Non-statutory TBA Llanrhidian Primary School After consulting with the Governing Body during the Autumn Meeting 2015, the GB felt that it was useful to include the following SWOT analysis to highlight threats to achievement.
