The Counseling Center provided various activities that were substance free alternatives and informative in regards to the consequences of alcohol use. Arkansas State University’s students, faculty, and staff were invited to attend and participate in all activities including but not limited to: Monday, October 29, 2007 Tuesday, October 30, 2007 Wednesday, October 31st, 2007 Thursday, November 1, 2007 Alcohol Prevention Bingo 10:00 am – 2:00 pm : Student Union Center Court Alcohol Clothesline Display 10:00 am – 3:00 pm : lawn between Library and Student Union “Don’t get loaded before you Hunt” 10:00 am – 2:00 pm : lawn between Arkansas Hall and Twin Towers Alcohol Clothesline Display 10:00 am – 3:00 pm : lawn between Library and Student Union Alcohol Screening 10:00 am – 2:00 pm : Counseling Center Street Dance 7:00 – 10:00 pm : Student Union Heritage Plaza *Small gift items and prizes were given to all participants and winners of various games/activities Alcohol Prevention Bingo contains fact and ideas to foster thinking about why the group should not use alcohol. Prizes that will consist of alcohol prevention information will be awarded to each Bingo winner. Alcohol Clothesline Display is an exhibit that consists of 60 t-shirts that display facts, statistics, and stories in regards to alcohol. This display will be strung on multiple clotheslines and displayed in between buildings of high traffic area. Don’t Get Loaded Before You Hunt is an interactive way for students to see the dangers of mixing alcohol and hunting. Students will wear our Fatal Vision Goggles and try shooting at a target with a paintball gun. Street Dance will be set up much like stereotypical party scene, minus the alcohol. A Disc Jockey will provide music, karaoke, and alcohol information throughout the night. During the party, students will be served with non-alcoholic drinks in an alcohol prevention stadium cup. Also, they will be taught how to calculate their Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) and be able to take home a BAC bookmark that is specific to men or women.
