Develop and maintain technology strategies, standards and methodologies and associated design and solutions. Produce well defined, well documented, viable, and cost effective solution architectures aligned to stakeholder requirements and enterprise architecture within the agreed deliverable timelines. Maintain information around solution designs and integration components within PlanningIT for all data transfers between internal and external systems. Ensure that technical reference architectures and patterns are applied appropriately in domains including enterprise application integration, enterprise web portal, information management, business intelligence, enterprise data warehouse, service-oriented architecture. Provide advice and guidance to reviews and decisions at the Architecture Review Committee (ARC) and Design Authority (DA). Provide an “alternative viewpoint” to the IT Strategy, Architecture and Integration Lead to ensure all aspects of IT strategy and architecture decisions are considered. Provide a secondary point of contact for Solution Architects and business customers on strategy and architecture topics when the IT Strategy, Architecture and Integration Lead is unavailable to ensure efficient decision making processes can occur and reduce any possible delays. Analyse business requirements, identify solution options, and recommend the preferred option. Define system/component requirements inclusive of all business and technical requirements. Ensure application integration aligns with architectural vision, standards, and guidelines. Define system architectures, including component models, enterprise service models, operational models, etc. Identify architecture decisions and ensure that they are documented effectively and endorsed by the appropriate party. Identify/prioritise risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure traceability from business requirements through system/component requirements to systems integration and user acceptance test. Ensure solution alignment with the enterprise architecture. Produce solution architecture deliverables such as Options Analysis, System/Component Requirements Specification, System Architecture Definition, Requirements Traceability Matrix, etc. Ensure all technology solutions are captured and updated within PlanningIT. Evolving, enhancing and promoting technology strategies Develop, maintain, and communicate technology strategy standards and methodologies under the direction of the IT Strategy, Architecture and Integration Lead. Engage with IS and business stakeholders to ensure that technology strategies are developed in alignment with business outcomes and corporate goals and strategies. Promote and guide SA Water staff to the principles and contents of technology strategies to ensure their correct implementation and adherence (especially on IS Projects). Provide input into strategic planning information gathered IS groups and direct from other relevant areas of SA Water. Technology Strategy and IS Plan drafted for review and stakeholder endorsement.
