Memorandum TO: Simulated Workplace Company Leaders FROM: Kathy J. D’Antoni, Ed.D., Chief Officer, Career Technical Education SUBJECT: Program Modernization Grant Due DATE: April 15, 2017 The Career and Technical Education Modernization Grant application is used to request funding to update and/or replace your company’s equipment. Please keep in mind, that our office has over 1,200 Simulated Workplace companies throughout West Virginia and only $810,000 to distribute. Therefore, the modernization grant process is very competitive and not all grant requests will be fulfilled. Those grants that are fulfilled, may not receive the entire amount requested as our office attempts to fulfill as many requests as possible. However, this should not deter your company from applying, but rather encourage you and your employees to raise the bar of success and write the best possible grant you can. Simulated Workplace Companies that illustrate a safety need will become a priority when distributing funds. The next group funded, will be those illustrating the greatest need and impact to the overall success of employees. Therefore, when filling out your company’s application, please give serious thought as to what you are requesting and how this request will impact the success of your Simulated Workplace Company. Those companies making the most compelling argument for funds will have a much great opportunity in capturing the allocated dollars. Best of Luck to all grant applicants and thank you for your interest in improving your Simulated Workplace Company!
