SOFTWARE TEAM LEAD Role We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead an existing team of skilled embedded software engineers within the transport division of Engineering working on Ticketing applications for embedded devices. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the current software as well as working to drive forward new products and developments. The role will involve leadership of a team that are located both within the Poole offices as well as externally and will be responsible for leading the continuing progress of a number of existing large deployments and on-going developments. They will be required to manage external pressures and demands on transport software development and work closely with other team leaders and departments you will ensure the structured and coordinated planning of your team’s development. Your technical background and experience will ensure you can offer the support and guidance required being able to support and assist developers at code level. This role offers challenges across a wide variety of projects and responsibilities, including the opportunity to influence the future direction of the department and systems used across the business. Responsibilities: Management of a team of highly skilled developers Managing the delivery of potentially multiple simultaneous software development projects from design through to release Capable of understanding and contributing to the technical solution from a design through code level Working closely with other team leads and project managers to produce accurate delivery estimates Take responsibility for ensuring that risks and issues are identified and managed correctly Work closely with other team leads to ensure alignment and coordinated development Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship Package and support deployment of releases Analyze and resolve technical and application problems Provide third-level support to business users Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget Participate: Contribute to interdepartmental communication in order to improve awareness of the project and customer needs and the creation of a team spirit within and outside their own work responsibility Contribute to a service minded and client-oriented approach and promptly respond to external and internal correspondence with the service of the client in focus Actively contribute to improve the quality of both products and services by working in accordance with internal and external quality standards Experience: 5+ years experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming and knowledge of design patterns 5+ years experience specifically with C# Programming using the Visual Studio Environment 1 years’ experience of Agile methodologies ideally including some knowledge of Second Generation Frameworks such as Disciplined Agile and LeSS Scrum Master or equivalent of an Agile development process Experience of automated test environments, ideally including TDD/BDD Experience of people management and the ability to lead and influence others Proven experience in leading and managing the delivery of system/software development projects Programming for Real Time Systems Familiar with using Source Control and bug auditing packages, ideally Microsoft Team Foundation Server Experience with working on Windows Embedded systems Ability to write clear and concise documentation and to be able to work from and meet a written specification Core skills: Work effectively both as a member of a team and individually Ability to make decisions using initiative and the information to hand Excellent communication skills Attention to detail and thoughtful throughout the development process Customer oriented Highly competent investigative skills Ability to work under pressure Behavioural factors: Will not necessarily take everything at face value and will question any ideas where appropriate Friendly and approachable attitude is key Happy to travel occasionally to on site locations Confident and able to take part in interdepartmental discussions in a professional manner Reports to: Device Applications Team Lead For more information please visit our website. www.parkeon.co.uk To apply for this position please send CV and Covering letter to [email protected] The Company Parkeon has a presence in 4,000 towns and cities, in 60 countries worldwide, delivering world-class intelligent transportation and parking solutions.
