Terms and Conditions – Prize Draw
1. This prize draw is only open to Eligible Participants. An Eligible Participant is a person aged 18
years or over who is resident in the United Kingdom and a permanent employee of a travel
agency approved by British Airways Plc (“BA”) to supply BA flight tickets. Employees of British
Airways Plc, its subcontractors or any member of the BA group of companies cannot participate
in this prize draw. BA reserves the right to verify the eligibility of Eligible Participants. By taking
part in this prize draw, Eligible Participants confirm that they accept the terms and conditions set
out below.
2. To participate in this prize draw, Eligible Participants must book an Eligible Flight for a customer
during the Promotional Period. Eligible Participants must also correctly enter the “LOFR”
keyword, their full name and email address in the booking. An Eligible Flight is any British Airways
prefix flight in a published or negotiated net fare and is booked and ticketed between 08:00
GMT Monday 10 September 2012 and 23:59 GMT Tuesday 12 September 2012. No purchase is
necessary. Entries which are received after the competition closing date will not be counted.
3. There is no limit to the number of Eligible Flights an Eligible Participant can book for their
customers during the Promotional Period to participate in this prize draw.
4. Bookings of non-Eligible Flights made using the LOFR keyword; bookings which misspell
the LOFR keyword and bookings made outside the Promotional Period will be automatically
disqualified from the prize draw. No other unique identifier will be permitted.
5. BA accepts no responsibility for damage or loss resulting from misdirected or incomplete
booking entries arising from computer malfunctions, viruses, bugs or other such causes. BA is
in no way liable for the reproduction or indirect access via a third party web site or home page
access which misstates or omits any of the information or terms and conditions connected with
the prize draw
6. There are a total of 25 prizes (25 pairs of flight-only tickets in Euro Traveller) to a Shorthaul
destination for travel from either London Heathrow or London Gatwick. The winners will be
drawn at random under independent supervision and notified by telephone within one week of
the closing date. The winner must accept the prize within 2 days of notification. If the winner
does not accept the prize within 2 days of notification the winner will automatically forfeit the
prize and BA will re-draw, and so on until a winner is confirmed.
7. The prize is valid for travel from 01 November 2012 to 30 June 2013. Dates, airport location
and flight times are subject to availability at time of booking. All travel must be booked by 31
December 2012, and completed by 30 June 2013.
8. Flights are on mainline scheduled services operated by BA with a BA prefix number. Travel on
BA franchise, codeshare and alliance airlines is not allowed. Prize flights include taxes, fees and
charges. Domestic connections and other add-ons are not included in the prize.
9. Promotional travel is not guaranteed. If space in the cabin is not available at the time of checkin, due to commercial demand, the airport will do all possible to accommodate you nearer the
departure time. You may be asked to standby, downgrade to travel on a later flight. If this is the
case, we would appreciate your co-operation in complying with the check-in agents request.
10.Children and infants under 12 years old are not eligible to travel on this prize-winner ticket.
11. Tickets and flights are subject to BA’s published Conditions of Carriage for passengers and
baggage, which are available on ba.com, and the notice and conditions of contract contained on
each ticket or itinerary.
12.The winner and his or her guest are responsible for any additional expenses, including
transportation to and from the airport and all incidentals not listed as part of the prize package
above. The winner and guest are responsible for ensuring that they each have a valid and
subsisting passport at the time of their flights and for obtaining (where applicable) the relevant
visa documentation and adequate travel insurance in respect of the prize.
13.All prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable and no cash alternative or substitution at the
winner’s election will be given. No BA Miles or partner miles will be awarded for travel under this
competition and the prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or special
offer by BA. No upgrades are allowed. Notwithstanding this, BA reserves the right to substitute
the prize for one of equal or greater value in unforeseen circumstances. All third party terms and
conditions relating to the prize apply.
14.The winner’s name can be obtained by sending a stamped self-addressed envelope between 13
September 2012 and 13 October 2012, to Mimi Plastiras, British Airways Plc, Waterside (HABG),
PO Box 365, Harmondsworth, UB7 0GB.
15.Personal data will be taken from all entries received but shall be limited to those details
reasonably necessary for the administration of the competition. This information may be shared
with any other third parties reasonably involved in the competition without liability to BA or such
third parties.
16.By entering this prize draw, the winner agrees to take part in any publicity relating to the prize
draw and grants BA permission to use his or her name and likeness and confirms that he or she
will obtain from the guest permission for BA to use the guest’s name and likeness, for advertising
and future promotional purposes without additional compensation (except where prohibited).
17.BA reserves the right to cancel or amend without notice the terms of this promotion and
any tickets issued in the event of major catastrophe, war, strike, earthquake or any actual or
anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other circumstance
beyond the Promoter’s control.
18.The Promoter’s decision is final and no other correspondence will be entered into.
19.Promotional materials form part of these terms and conditions. This promotion is governed by
English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
20.Entry into the prize draw signifies acceptance of and agreement with these terms and conditions.
