SOLO/DUAL ARMED TRICK EXHIBITION
e-POSTAL COMPETITION
This postal competition is an opportunity for school JROTC drill teams to compete in
Solo & Dual Armed Trick Exhibition. Earn medals & points for the Unit in the category
for the best Solo & Dual Armed Trick Exhibition presentation. During the months of
October, November & December, compete & submit your results!
1. Only $20 for your first team and $10 for each additional team. You may submit as
many teams as you want in either category. Make checks, money orders or
purchase orders, payable to: RVRHS/NJROTC.
2. Complete the application now with your Unit’s information and e-mail me
([email protected]) that your Unit will participate. Then submit your video
results ASAP to RVRHS/NJROTC by DVD or USB thumb-drive via US mail, to
the address on the above letterhead. Submissions must be complete by December
31, 2012. The USB thumb drive will be mailed back to you.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT:
All cadets MUST have a valid Health Risk and Standard Release form on file.
Competition must be completed by cadets within your school’s NJROTC program
and under the supervision of Naval Science Instructors and in accordance with all
your school & NJROTC policies, guidelines and ORM. Your SNSI is responsible
for the safety & integrity of the results and the decisions of this office are final.
Entry fees must be received by RVRHS/NJROTC with your team(s) results, no
later than December 31. Videos cannot be submitted through e-mail, nor posted
on social networking sites (eg: Facebook, etc.).
Winning results, medals will be announced and distributed during the month of
January.
a. Medals will be awarded to the highest scoring teams in the two categories.
b. All Units and cadets will be entitled to unabashed bragging rights!
Dual: The boundary lines will be set at 60 x 30 feet. Boundary lines must be
clearly marked (may be taped, pre-marked, etc.) Rifles used may either be the
Daisy Drill Rifle or M1 Garand Replica. All rifles must be the same type for
one team. The minimum weight of each rifle must be no less than 8 lb. 10 oz.
(general weight of DDR). Rifles must not be modified*. The time limit will be
between 3-5 minutes per routine.
Solo: The boundary lines will be set at 30 x 30 feet. Rifles used may either be the
Daisy Drill Rifle or M1 Garand. All rifles used must be the same type for one
routine. The minimum weight of each rifle must be no less than 8 lb. 10 oz.
(general weight of DDR). Rifles must not be modified*. The time limit will be
between 2-3 minutes per routine.
Grading/timing will begin at the immediate start of the routine. For safety
purposes, cadets may not leave the ground at any point during the routine (no
jumping, flips, blind tosses, etc.). Cadets will report in/out with the name of their
school. Grading will conclude at the end of the routine, when cadet(s) exit the
drill area.
All movements should be related to military drill and should be readily
recognizable as a military-related presentation. Routine may not include songs or
“slap and clap” Judges will be concentrating upper body to include head and eye
movement, lower body to include foot movement, and overall execution with
emphasis on perfection, timing and difficulty of routine.
*The only two exceptions will be made to this rule; (a) The rear sight of the rifle
(DDR) may be removed for safety purposes. (b) Tape may be used to secure the
sling of the rifle or for effect. Again this should not substantially affect the weight
of the rifle. Any violation of these rules will result in possible disqualification.
