3ON3 GAME PLAY RULES
1. All 3ON3 Games will be NON-CONTACT with a ZERO TOLERANCE of VIOLENCE.
Referee discretion - Ejection of Game and/ or League.
2. All 3ON3 Games will be Run Time. Period Length will be 12-12-15.
3. Warm-Up will consist of a 5 minute Run Time. Time starts once the Ice Resurfacer Gate
is closed.
4. Face Offs will occur at the beginning of Each Period at Centre Ice Only.
5. When the Puck goes Out of Play, a Goal is Scored, or the Goalie Freezes the Puck, the
Offensive Team must give the Zone to the Blue Line.
6. Each Team must make Line Changes on the Fly.
7. When Changing Players, the Players coming on the Ice cannot leave the Bench Early.
Teams will Receive One (1) Warning from the Referee before being Penalized with a
Penalty Shot.
8. Timekeepers will Track all Scorers & Post Player Numbers in the Timekeepers Box.
9. There will be No Overtime during Regular Season Play. Games will End in a Tie at the
End of the 3rd Period.
ROSTER & ELIGIBILITY RULES
1. No more than Nine (9) Skaters + One (1) Goalie may be on the Bench for any 3ON3
Hockey Game - No Exception.
2. A Team must have a Minimum of 5 Players Dressed by Recruiting Eligible Players from
other Teams/ Night - Please Refer to Player Substitution Rules Below.
3. Every 3ON3 Adult Hockey Participant must have filled out a Registration/ Waiver Form
Prior to the First Game. This is Mandatory for Player Insurance Coverage.
4. Every 3ON3 Adult Hockey Participant must ensure their First & Last Name is clearly
Written & Legible on the Game Sheet Prior to Each Game.
5. When Writing Names on the Game Sheets, Players must make sure their Jersey
Number corresponds with their Name properly to ensure Referee & Timekeepers are
properly Tracking Goals.
6. In the Event that a Goalie is Absent & the Team is not able to find an Eligible Substitute
Goalie (Registered in the League Previously), Teams may Play with 4 Skaters - 1 of
these Players must be Assigned to Not to Pass their Own Blue Line. The League does
have a Spare Goalie List to help ensure that No Team has to Play without a Goalie.

PENALTIES
1. All Minor Penalties will Result in a Penalty Shot. The Remaining Players will Line Up on
the Blue Line to give space to the Shooter. Penalty Shot must be taken by the Players in
which the Infraction Occurred Against.
2. Any Individuals Receiving 3 Minor Penalties in One (1) Game will Receive a Game
Ejection.
3. Coincidental Minor Penalties will Result in No Penalty Shot for either Team; However the
Timekeeper will Write Down the Penalty Numbers & will be Counted Toward Maximum 3
Minor Penalties. A Coincidental Penalty will Result in a Face Off where the Referee
Delegates.
4. A Major Penalty will Result in the Offending Player(s) Ejection & a Penalty Shot will be
Awarded.
5. ZERO TOLERANCE OF VIOLENCE - Any Fighting Major Penalty written up on a
Incident Report Form by the Referee will be Reviewed by The Barn - Elite Performance
Centre 3ON3 Adult Hockey League Officials to Determine the Length of Suspension for
Offending Player(s). Under No Circumstances will Fighting be Permitted in the
3ON3 Adult Hockey League. Expulsion from the 3ON3 Adult Hockey League may Result.
6. During the Course of the Game, the Referee’s Decision is Final. A Zero Tolerance
Approach will be used by the Referee towards Aggressive and/ or Abusive Players. A
Review by League Officials will Result, in any Behaviour Deemed Inappropriate to the
3ON3 Adult Hockey League.
7. All Suspensions will be Issued at the Discretion of The Barn - Elite Performance Centre
3ON3 Adult Hockey League Officials.
OTHER
1. The Barn - Elite Performance Centre Identifies the Standard of Behaviour that is
Expected of all Participants in the 3ON3 Adult Hockey League, which for the purpose of
this Code Includes all Players, Goalies & Spectators. The Barn EPC is Committed to
Providing an Environment, in which, all Individuals are treated with Dignity & Respect.
All Participants shall Avoid Behaviour which brings The Barn EPC or the Sport of
Hockey into Disrepute, including but not limited to the Abusive use of Alcohol, use of
Non-Medically Prescribed Drugs & the use of Alcohol by Minors. Participants shall
Refrain from Comments or Behaviour, whether Verbal, Physical, Written or Posted on
Social Media, that is Disrespectful, Offensive, Abusive, Racist or Sexist. In particular,
Behaviour which Constitutes Harassment or Abuse will not be Tolerated. Failure to
comply with this Code of Conduct may Result in Disciplinary or Legal Action.
