Students
Assumption Roman Catholic School is home to
over 30 students. We are currently accepting
Catholic
enrollments
and
non-Catholic
enrollments.

School Climate
The focus of our school is to create an
environment where children feel safe and can
grow to their full potential. Our goal is to develop
students that are self-disciplined and reflective of
their behaviors and their actions. Rules in the
school are based on mutual respect and love for
one another as modeled by Christ. Students and
staff respect each other and their property, we
apply ourselves diligently to our schoolwork, and
we apply the teachings of Jesus in our daily lives.
Religious Focus
Assumption Roman Catholic School fosters a
warm Christian climate. Students are taught
religion in a regular class that is scheduled 3 times
per week. Prayer is used at various times
throughout the day, and religious celebrations
occur at least once a month. Traditional Catholic
teachings and prayers are taught through the
religion program.
Programs
Assumption Roman Catholic School follows the
Alberta Program of Studies. We also offer a formal
religion course three times a week. In addition, a full
complement programs are offered including art, music,
Drama, core French, and option classes, We also provide
excellent levels of support through our Learning
Resource programs including Early Literacy, Enhanced
Reading, and a Resource Program.
Learning Philosophy
Students should be challenged to work to the best
of their abilities at all times. To ensure this
happens, teachers follow these principles: 1) daily
review, 2) re-teaching when necessary, 3) frequent,
formative assessment, 4) asking students to re-do
work when necessary, and 5) ensuring students
complete classwork and homework.
Grades Offered
Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten to Grade 6 will be
offered during the 2014/2015 school year.
Pre-Kindergarten
Pre-Kindergarten is a parent supported program that runs
for 3-hours during Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons.
Children must be 4 years of age by February 28,
2015 in order to enroll in Pre-Kindergarten.
Kindergarten
A 475-hour programs are offered. It is a full-day
Tuesday and Thursday program.
Fees
Pre-Kindergarten fees are set at $76.00 per
month. Kindergarten fees are set at $50 for the
2014/2015 school year. Grades 1 to 6 school fees
are set at $55. The total is not to exceed $170.00
per family.

Parental Input
Assumption Roman Catholic School has an
active parent community, led by our School
Council and the very capable chairperson – Mrs.
Christie Caskey.
