2016 FOOTBALL PLAYOFF INFORMATION

Reporting First Place District Winners
Friday, November 4, 2016 by 10:00 PM
(Teams playing Saturday, November 5 must report immediately following
completion of the game and no later than 8:00 PM)
District Winners/Ties must be reported by the District Chairperson using the
form located on the football page of the LHSAA website.

Wildcard Program & Power Ratings
Addressed under Rules 14.9 through 14.14 in the 2016-17 LHSAA Handbook

Power Ratings Online (Disputes)
Sunday, November 6, 2016. Any disputes must be emailed to Terence Williams
at [email protected] between midnight and 8:00 AM

Final Brackets Released
Sunday, November 6, 2016 during the Pairings Shows, which airs at 11: 00 AM
on Cox Sports Television (CST).
Brackets will be posted on the LHSAA website throughout the Pairings Show.

Bi-District Round &
Determining “Home” Team
The higher seeded team shall be the home team.
Should some team receive a “bye” because another team withdraws from the
playoffs, the “bye” will count as a “home” game for the team drawing the bye.
The Winning Team will enter the results of the game on the LHSAA Member
Site immediately after the game (NO PHONE CALLS, EMAILS OR FAXES.)
The Home team for the next round shall enter all game information online.

RESPONSIBILITY OF REPORTING
PLAYOFF WINNERS TO LHSAA
If the Winning Team fails to report the outcome of a state playoff contest to the
LHSAA online by 10:00 PM on the day of the contest, the school shall be fined
$100.
The higher seeded team shall be the home team for the finals.

Officials for Playoff Contests
Assigned by the Director of Officials for all rounds of the playoffs.
Bi-District & Regional Rounds
All Games: Five on the field officials and one clock operator. *
Quarterfinal Round

Fifteen Games: Six on the field officials and one clock operator. *

Nine Games: Seven on the field officials and one clock operator. *

Semifinal Round

Fifteen Games: Six on the field officials and one clock operator. *

Nine Games: Seven on the field officials and one clock operator. *
Final Round
All Games: Seven on the field officials and two clock operator crews.
* The home school may request a 25 second clock operator for any round of the
playoffs. Contact the assignment secretary.
The clock operator shall be paid.

Officials Pay
Addressed under Section 8 in the 2016-17 LHSAA Handbook

25-Second Clock Operators
Must be a responsible adult.

Chain Crews
Use adults on the chains and down marker.

Escort and Security for Officials
Must be provided by “Home” Team. School must provide staff member and at
least one law enforcement officer to meet and escort officials to dressing room,
before, at halftime, after the game and to their car upon leaving the stadium.
Arrange for a meeting place for officials at halftime and after the game.

Admission Prices
Must be agreed upon by both schools

Broadcasts (Radio/TV/Internet)
Must be agreed upon by both schools. Fees become part of gate receipts.

Passes
Only LHSAA, LHSCA, Football Officials and Press Passes will be honored.

Comp Passes
Must be agreed upon by both schools and must be reasonable.

Admission Charge for Cheerleaders, Band
and Pep Squad Members
To be determined by both schools.

Playoff Percentage to LHSAA
Ten percent (10%) of gross receipts before any deductions are made. The
financial statement must be sent to the LHSAA with your school check made
payable to the LHSAA. (Found under Forms and Downloads > Football on the
website.)

Use of Video Taping to “Scout” Playoff
Opponents
Illegal unless both schools agree in writing prior to the game.

Program Information
All Bi-District/First Round Playoff Winners must email the team roster form
(included in this bulletin), team photo and school logo to Ali Schwandt at
[email protected] by 4:00 PM on Monday, November 7, 2016.

Prep Classic Meeting
Teams qualifying for the state finals will be given a championship bulletin at
their Semifinal Winners Meeting held at the temporary LHSAA Office located at
7389 Florida Blvd. Suite 200D, Baton Rouge, LA 70803.



How to Send:
School Information & Roster Forms
1. All information must be typed using upper/lowercase format. Please
do not use all caps. (example: John Doe)
2. Handwritten or scanned/faxed documents will not be
accepted.
3. Send forms to the above-mentioned email as a word
document. PDF documents will not be accepted. If forms are
not properly sent, schools will be asked to resubmit by the deadline.
Do not send entire bulletin. Send only the roster forms.
4. Use the following formats when entering information on the roster
forms
a. Height: Enter using only a hyphen between foot and inches. Do not use
apostrophes or quotations (example: 5-10)
b. Weight: Only include the number. Do not put “lbs.” after the number
(example: 185)
c. Grade: Enter only numbers not the abbreviations or “th” after the
numbers (example: 12)
Team Photos & Logos
1. Both photos and logos must be sent as high resolution color files
2. Images should be at least 300 dpi. This will insure images will print in
high quality.
3. Acceptable file types are .jpeg, .eps, .tif
4. Team photos should be at least 9 inches wide
Schools are encouraged to send a read receipt with all emails.
Failure to Send:
1. School will be fined $200.
2. School will be required to hand deliver missing articles on a disk or
USB drive to the LHSAA.
